I posted to see if anyone had the same religious beliefs as I did and within hours my post was deleted.
am I right in thinking now that mumsnet is happy for you to discuss your beliefs but only if they align with their own?
if you’re allowing discussions on religion then you should be open to discussions on all beliefs.
my religion is recognised as a belief system in the us and has all the same legal rights as any other.

these are the tenets I live by.
There are Seven
FUNDAMENTAL TENETS
I
One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

II
The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

III
One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

IV
The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

V
Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

VI
People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

VII
Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

does that sound offensive and scary to you to be deleted?

But if I’m reading right we’re being told we’re unwelcome so we obviously won’t find likeminded people here because posts speaking about our beliefs will be deleted without offering space for open minded debate. Maybe if the people who are offended and ignorant can read about satanism and learn what we’re actually about they won’t be upset.

its still a case of mumsnet is showing they’re open to some beliefs but not others and it’s not ok.

Yeah @HebeMumsnet the OP is an equal opportunities satanist 😂 have some respect

GingerAndLemonn · 01/09/2022 16:17

@mnhq can you explain why satanism isn’t welcome on mumsnet? And why derogatory and piss taking comments are ok about this particular set of beliefs but not others?

JustALittleHelpPlease · 01/09/2022 16:40

I have to agree @HebeMumsnet MNHQ that deletion message is a bit off - and the thread wasn't goady, didn't appear to break any rules. It really looks like you've gone a bit nimby on this one which is a shame.

Let's face it posters here are more than capable of having a healthy debate if they don't agree with something!

Ask yourself if Satan would be a good name for a baby and then go figure
'What’s that got to go with anything'

Well would you ? No you wouldn't and neither would I. I wouldn't even call a dog by that name because of the connection.
There have to be some boundaries in life surely?

I am not interested in cults. They are run by the insane for the insane.

Lots of things would be a good name for a baby but that wouldn't make them bad.

Vecnasnurse · 01/09/2022 17:07

I'll join op, when do I get my goat leggings?

Seriously though, I had no idea of the work they were doing in America against Roe v Wade. Anything that challenges that load of horse shit is worth a look.

Vecnasnurse · 01/09/2022 17:09

I need a 34 long.

LilyMumsnet · 01/09/2022 17:26

Hello OP

We're sorry for any upset caused here - that's never our intention.

Can you start a new thread in our ask me anything topic? As other posters have mentioned, it would be a good way to introduce the topic and invite conversation. We're happy to keep an eye on it.

If you had been born with an extra arm stuck out of your chest you would have it removed because it doesn’t feel like it’s your body and so you’d have surgery to correct it.
trans women are women and always have been but finally they are able to have surgery, medications etc to align their body with how they were supposed to be born.
its not a belief or choice, I didn’t choose to be bisexual i don’t “believe” I’m bisexual I just am.
that’s probably why you were asked to leave because one of the benefits of satanism being so open and accepting means trans and gay people are more common

Well then you've lost me there. I believe trans people deserve rights and to live lives freely and without discrimination or prejudice but Trans Women are Trans Women. Science matters more than feelings and one set of people do not get to trample the rights of others because they feel entitled to do so.

Feel free to be offended I guess.

They are breaking their own tenets there which makes them hypocrites. Sad Sad

They're not a cult. They're a social/political/activist group, formed in a nominally secular country where Christianity nevertheless has such power that it affects the lives of those who are not Christian, in spaces where there should be no preferential treatment, and where religious groups have certain allowances and permissions in law that cannot be accessed by the non-religious. These people worked out that by forming their own "religion", they could effect change by, for example, using the same routes into public spaces as Christianity does, to highlight areas where Christianity has until now been largely unchallenged for cultural reasons, and to demonstrate that Christianity does not own that space by right but must share it with others.

I say again, my opinions are my own. Yes I’m a member of the satanic temple but I’m quite new and Especially given the broad spectrum of members there will be differing opinions. Having a child who is possibly trans also skews my opinion.

and thank you for backing down hq, if I have the energy I will do another thread.

What about the transwomen (and transmen) who aren't interested in surgery or medication "align their body with how they were supposed to be born."? Are they not women/men?

Indeed!

wibblywobblybits · 03/09/2022 21:16

OP can I ask how you found satanism in the first place please?
