I posted to see if anyone had the same religious beliefs as I did and within hours my post was deleted.
am I right in thinking now that mumsnet is happy for you to discuss your beliefs but only if they align with their own?
if you’re allowing discussions on religion then you should be open to discussions on all beliefs.
my religion is recognised as a belief system in the us and has all the same legal rights as any other.

these are the tenets I live by.
There are Seven

People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

Yes, exactly. It’s the opposite of straightforward and up-front, it’s patronising.

Why not just be straight about it, if your goal is truly to just connect with other parents who share your beliefs? rather than trying to make everyone go oooh in some kind of daft “gotcha” way.

I do kind of think though that if Satanism is really essentially just normal decency, deciding to call it Satanism in the first place was a weird choice. Almost as if there is in fact an element of attention-seeking shock value to the whole thing 🤔

I deliberately didn’t mention satanism because the moment it was mentioned people have a preconceived idea of what it is.
I’m not trying to convert people or trick People into joining the satanic temple I came to a site I’ve been posting on off and on for a decade and always found people here who I could have an open discussion with and assumed (wrongly it would seem) that I might find open minded people here.

I fully accept that individuals will be judgemental but would hope that large organisations would spend maybe 5 minutes to educate themselves slightly and not have a knee jerk reaction.

Well I knew nothing about Satanism, and as a Christian I am intrigued and pretty relieved to read those tenets you listed. They look reasonable and reassuring to me.

WRT your tenets, I would challenge V - the one on scientific fact. I am deeply sceptical of scientific 'fact' as science tends to assert current trends in knowledge as fact and then these facts get disproved. I wish scientists had a bit more flexibility and humility that what they currently believe may well be proved wrong and most likely will be at some point. So I would always stay very open minded about factual assertions about ho the universe works.

And tenet IV I didn't really understand - it seemed to contradict itself. Freedom to offend but not to encroach on someone else's freedom seems a bit tangled. If their freedom is to live without e.g. racial or sexist abuse but another person's freedom is to cause offense by speaking their racist/sexist mind as they please - how do you square that?
