Bookmarking not working when refreshing a thread

I know you said you were going to restore the refresh button - and I'm assuming that will be coming soon - but in the meantime all we can do is to refresh the whole thread. But now, every time I do that, the bookmark I have carefully added to the thread disappears.

This might not matter on some threads, but when it's on a fast-moving one it's really annoying!

Bookmarks don't seem to be working at all. Or they're very intermittent. It's a pain, especially on long threads.

If that isn't the case, can we check that you're both running latest versions of the apps/have updated your browsers? Let us know. We'll talk you through how to do these things (depending on how you're accessing the site).

Yes, error page here too. But I have the latest version of Safari on iPhone. They were working until today, when the site has been generally poor.

Bookmarks don't work for me either, and haven't since the site upgrade. I'm on the mobile website, using the latest version of Chrome on Android.

I'm using Safari on a Mac and it's all up to date.

I'm also accessing via up to date Safari on a Mac and bookmarks still not working for me either.

for the love of god, the bookmarks (or lack thereof) are doing my head in!

I'm using a MacBook Air, desktop site, with BigSur v11.6, Safari v15.

So as far as I know all up to date.

Any update @LilyMumsnet ? I'm using chrome on android, all up to date with browser etc and mine aren't working either. It is a real pain.

My bookmarks Were working fine and now aren't so I don't know what's happened. 404 error for me as well with the link.

I am afraid I do find it very frustrating that not only did the new site go live with all these bugs but that weeks later they still aren't fixed.

For me, it's not that bookmarks don't work at all, but that if I try to bookmark more than once on the same thread, when it refreshes I'm taken back to the original bookmark, not the most recent one. (Hope that makes sense!)

I usually MN on my Kindle Fire, where the browser is Silk (recently updated), and I did wonder if that was the problem. But the same thing is happening on my laptop, using Chrome (also recently updated).

And the link posted above on the 11th doesn't work for me either.

Sorry to resurrect the thread, I have exactly the same problem - I spoke to @MNHQ about it, got told to 'clear your cache' which I did, but it's still not working. I can't bookmark at all, and half the time when a thread opens I get a few lines of text and the rest is blank. No other website I visit, forum or otherwise, has these issues.

I'm finding the site near unusable at the moment. I use Safari (up to date) on an ipad (also up to date). I'm not a specialist but am reasonably au fait with tech.

It's genuinely the worst update in the history of this site. If I was a software programmer and I'd presided over this mess, pretty sure I'd be out of a job by now.

Hi all - just to update you, we are on this issue. It's a really tricky one and we've done a few calls with users to try and understand exactly what is causing the problem. We think we might have a solution now so am hoping we can sort this very soon. Sorry for the frustration caused and thanks for your patience!

I’ve got bookmarks working when using via Chrome, but not on the Talk app. I’ve just updated the app, but not luck.
