Oh dear God, can the site please stop doing a complete refresh every time I hit the back button???

Everything is in a different order every time I go back and I have to scroll to the top and start again.

MNHQ - any chance that this is going to be fixed?

OP posts:
Ohilovetorave · 03/05/2022 22:13

AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's awful

embolass · 03/05/2022 22:13

God yes it’s really annoying
Thanks OP for starting a thread on this!

Firstgenuni · 03/05/2022 22:30

Another one who hates this feature!

IstayedForTheFeminism · 03/05/2022 22:31

Agreed.

Gotofriggingsleep · 03/05/2022 22:36

Agreed.

LovelyBitOfSquirrrel · 03/05/2022 22:37

Yes! I hate this

Noodlebob · 03/05/2022 22:37

Agreed!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 03/05/2022 22:37

This new site is shite.

burnoutbabe · 03/05/2022 22:38

Yep. As I click onto one thread I see one just below and think oh that looks interesting then go back and it's not there and I can't recall forum etc

WaltzingToWalsingham · 03/05/2022 22:42

I agree. I see several threads I'm interested in on Active, look at one, and then - puff - the others have all disappeared! Enough of the automatic refreshing please, MNHQ!

Happylittlepickle · 03/05/2022 22:43

I've resorted to opening all the threads I like the sound of in active threads as separate tabs, it's such a pain.

GiantKitten · 03/05/2022 22:43

They’re aware.
Tech commented on this thread, but nothing doing yet apparently.

DaanSaaf · 03/05/2022 22:44

Agreed, thought it was just me!

DropYourSword · 03/05/2022 22:45

Firm agree!

And the search area is also now shite

Kite22 · 03/05/2022 22:46

Trouble is, since they have made all the changes, you can no longer 'refresh' a thread you might have had open for several minutes when you get to it.

You used to be able to do this until all the annoying changes, but they have now hidden the refresh button. So if you have a few tabs open, it can be quite out of date when you go to post.

mouse70 · 03/05/2022 22:50

Agree. Its driving me mad, also no longer able to see which thread I have read. Having made so many changes why did they not add an agree button so we can identify those comments we like.

Smidge001 · 03/05/2022 22:56

Agree! This is madenning and probably going to be the main cause for me to give up on the new site. (though the massive white space an incessant scrolling is also a massive turnoff)

ForeverWaitingInForParcels · 03/05/2022 22:58

AGREE. Please change this, MN.

DuesToTheDirt · 03/05/2022 23:00

It used to do this before sometimes (on iphone) but now it's every single time. Drives me mad and after a few goes I give up.

I also get random page refreshes when viewing a thread, which is really annoying as it takes me back up to the top of the page and I lose my place.

ChazzaGirl · 03/05/2022 23:01

Another agree!

StageRage · 03/05/2022 23:02

It’s driving me potty!

Thank you for mentioning thread refreshing...or not. I thought it was my tablet/Internet being annoying, which is just adding to the whole annoying experience of MN.

Adding my voice to the others. Its extremely irritating and not needed.

2MinuteRice · 03/05/2022 23:05

Yep. Me too

FlibbertyGiblets · 03/05/2022 23:09

I looked at the linked thread in case it was Original Tech commenting [misses the point]

StaunchMomma · 03/05/2022 23:11

Mumsnet seems to have gone to pot since the last update.
