Consent/legitimate interest Reject All button?

BloodyFeetByMoonlight · 07/12/2021 18:03

I usually stay logged in on my phone but randomly had to sign in again just now & had to do the pita cookie consent business again.

All the Consents come up as opt in but can we get a ‘reject all’ button for the ‘legitimate interest’ stuff? (Or have I missed seeing it in the huff of having to rechoose?)

Many won’t care I know and happily have all the cookies etc but a reject all would be handy for those that don’t because it’s annoying to have to scroll through (esp on my teeny old phone Blush)

Obvs don’t expect companies to want to prob why the legitimate interest buttons exist alongside the consent buttons in the first place Hmm but I’ve noticed more sites have ‘reject all’ alongside ‘accept all’ for both consent & legitimate interest so sticking an ask in Grin

Hi JoyDivisionOvenGlovesx - we can feel your frustration and we're sorry it's taken a long time to make this change.

Our new system is expected to go live at the end of February and there IS a reject all button!!!

Hang in there; change is coming.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 18/02/2022 08:36

That's good to know, Fliss!

Halsall · 20/02/2022 17:07

In the meantime, just had to plough through all the consents again…..

kittensinthekitchen · 20/02/2022 17:24

@larkstar

MN has to instruct Permutive to make the opt out 1 click - plenty of other GDPR compliant sites now do this - this is not difficult. Imagine how difficult it is for someone with poor eyesight, poor motor control, arthritis, etc to exercise their right to opt out - there is no excuse for delaying this change.
Absolutely.

I have motor issues and because I used to reject all I was continually being asked again and again and having to go through the whole process often.
I finally - thanks to nothing but pressure from MN - clicked to accept, and funnily haven't once been asked to review my decision since.

@FlissMumsnet @MichaelMumsnet @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet Can you confirm that once the new site is launched and we are able to 'reject all' that this will override any and all existing acceptances that we may have made previously?

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 21/02/2022 14:24

Hi @kittensinthekitchen happy to confirm that yes, there will be a one click reject all option when we launch the new site within the next couple of weeks. Thanks for bearing with us along the way as we appreciate it's not been easy for you.

RoseAndRose · 21/02/2022 16:20

So basically, despite all tthe user comments and complaints ever since this was launched, you decided to do nothing about it.

This could and should have been dealt with 18 months ago.

Thanks @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet but that didn't answer my specific question.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 21/02/2022 17:23

@kittensinthekitchen yes that's correct. We are replacing the CMP (consent management platform). When users first come to the new site they will be shown the CMP and will have the option to reject all.

AuntieStella · 15/03/2022 07:02

That did not happen for me.

It was the same old consent form and it took 160 clicks this time.

I really feel very let down over this. it was bad enough that you took a "jam tomorrow" approach in the first place ( this issue as raised by users 18 months ago) but then it was absolutely promised as part of the change.

And then you didn't do it.

That really shogddy treatment towards your content-generators

reshetima · 15/03/2022 19:05

@YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet May we have an update please? I'm still having to tick umpteen boxes. I feel thoroughly let down.
