The next time you send an email about a poster to that poster by mistake. Probably best not to refer to your users as 'these people'

I don't think I will if things don't improve. The concerns raised by many here (including current members) need to be addressed.
Unquestioning acceptance and support of Mumsnet, which seems to be the stance you're taking (forgive me if I'm wrong) isn't really helpful

ibbleobbleblackbubble · 24/08/2017 10:25

What are you, 12? Threats of violence are a bit beyond the pale, don't you think?
Relax it's a joke😊
like Mumsnet putting people on the naughty step is a joke .... How can anyone take this place seriously?
And that's ass kicking in the sense of the website taking a popularity hit as a result of supercilious and patronising treatment from the management

ibbleobbleblackbubble · 24/08/2017 10:28

Well why on earth do keep coming back if it's all so very shit?
I presume because it's sometimes amusing / entertaining .....watching the naive and unquestioning obedience of most of the members on there?

MadMags · 24/08/2017 10:29

Dame are they paying you?! Wink

Circumlocutor · 24/08/2017 10:29

'What are you, 12? Threats of violence are a bit beyond the pale, don't you think?'

Oh Lord. She clearly didn't mean ass kicking in the literal sense...

A troll thread in bereavement, for example, can bring back awful memories and cause great distress to hundreds of readers. Posters (and even more lurkers) who have suffered bereavement themselves. But hey ho, let's not care about them, let's just worry about the op who must obviously be vulnerable if they are coming on to the internet to make shit up hmm

That's so true.

MadMags · 24/08/2017 10:37

Ironically, you seem very invested in other people being over-invested...

endehors · 24/08/2017 10:38

They're definitely paying her Grin

MadMags · 24/08/2017 10:38

And, as always, HQ's Great Defenders should read and take stock of Maryz.

Trolling can be extremely damaging. Not the the MN coffers, mind.

Perfectly relaxed but shit joke. Just saying. I've never seen your username before and had a vision of a kid home for the holiday joining in with the mums for a laugh. Wasn't just me that called you out on it either.

Also, and I get the uneasy feeling about this place too atm, but hoping for this website to take a popularity hit, whilst posting on this website about that, seems at crossed purposes to me. Grin

*Today 09:49 ibbleobbleblackbubble

So fucking funny isn't it....this being suspended thing
it's equivalent to being on the naughty step at school
Just who do Mumsnet headquarters think they are??
I can't take them seriously, they have delusions of authority

It's because people are so open about how much support and information they get from MN. They know that some really do rely on it because they've less than ideal support in their real lives. It has made them arrogant up their own arses as they know many posters will be distraught at and go a long way not to lose those on line support and friendship networks.

endehors · 24/08/2017 10:39

Grin
ibbleobbleblackbubble · 24/08/2017 10:39

Just to be clear I'm not threatening violence, nothing of the sort
perhaps I should have used the phrase have their ass handed to them?
But not by me personally
I'm not threatening to deliver punishment or retribution.... I've got much better things to do
I meant you know..... Karma
if they take the piss eventually they will reap what they sow
Pigeons Will come home to roost

Oh maybe not
maybe there are enough potential members ....nice obedient Goody Two Shoes people who bow and scrape to the authority of Mumsnet headquarters to keep this place running in perpetuity

I think you're dead right but I also think there are lots and lots of very supportive on line Communities and this genre is not going away anytime soon
People will continue create more and better supportive online communities

LineysRun · 24/08/2017 10:45

I don't think that anyone's contribution is any more valid than the next person's

I do. The myriad troll contributions are much less 'valid' to me than the material from, say, Maryz.

Circumlocutor · 24/08/2017 10:46

'Ironically, you seem very invested in other people being over-invested..'

Indeed.

MsGameandWatching · 24/08/2017 10:46

This. And those are the ones they want to cultivate. It's obviously working too 😊

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 24/08/2017 10:48

@ibble I don't think MN will be losing sleep over this denting their popularity it didn't cause a sweat about apparent story of someone not advertising due to all swearing from riff raff members like myself.

How many people have come here because they got banned from netmums or come to bitch about netmums. Am sure they didn't cry over losing members.

To me there are only 3 main parenting forums that I'm aware of so competition is hardly fierce.

PandorasXbox · 24/08/2017 10:51

Rubbish. We have some brilliant posters on here who give sound advice. There's a lot of them missing I've noticed too. Possibly banned? Or have just left because it's not what it used to be. On the flip side there's an abundance of new posters whose contributions I take with a pinch of salt for various reasons.
