I am Spartacus.

BroomhildaVonShaft · 25/08/2016 21:43

I am Spartacus
Males are referred to by the pronoun 'he' and females by 'she'
To call a male 'she' or a female 'he' is linguistically incorrect. I only do it as a matter of courtesy to individuals I respect/like/owe a duty of politeness to but I know that I am speaking a lie.
I will use 'they' on mumsnet to refer to trans and non binary people only to avoid being deleted or banned. This does not mean I believe in gender or misgendering as a concept.

user1471552005 · 25/08/2016 21:43

I am Spartacus

sparechange · 25/08/2016 21:44

I am spare
I was born with a vagina. This makes me a woman. This is the only thing that makes a woman.
I do not acknowledge the concept of 'cis' and I find the use of it to be 'violent misgendering' of me

I agree with Oscar (and many other posters) and I am sick. To. The. Core. Of having to cowtow to people who think being born with a penis gives them superiority over anyone who wasn't.

IBelieveTheEarthIsFlat · 25/08/2016 21:46

And This, all of This
..Is why I love MN. MN, do you love us?

DoinItFine · 25/08/2016 21:49

I am DoinitSpartacus

I am not a ciswoman.

Gender is a system of oppression.

I reject it.

SanityClause · 25/08/2016 21:50

I am SanityClause, and I agree with the OP.

CocoaBum · 25/08/2016 21:50

I am Cocoa.

A penis is not female.
A man can never become a woman.

If I said I felt like I was born in the wrong body, and actually I should have a missing limb, or should be a lion, or black (Rachel Dolezar anyone?) people would think I was crazy. Why is it so different with gender?

I believe that gender is a social construct, and that people should be able to dress and behave in ways which have been traditionally seen as belonging to the opposite sex/gender without problems.

However, by declaring themselves 'non binary', they are just reinforcing that those stereotypes are true and applicable! Much braver to say 'I am a man, and I like pink/skirts/make up/baking' etc

CharlieSierra · 25/08/2016 21:50

I am Charlie. I am a woman, a feminist, a mother.

It is impossible to change sex. Gender is a social construct used to oppress women.

There is no such thing as a female penis.

Wannabestepfordwife · 25/08/2016 21:51

I am Spartacus

(Not articulate or imaginative enough to add anymore)

DunelmBrokeMe · 25/08/2016 21:51

I am Dunelm and i've nothing to add because everybody has already said what I think.

And I too, am Spartacus.

StephanieDA · 25/08/2016 21:52

I am Stephanie.
'Born in the wrong body' was invented by a bunch of powerful cross-dressing men to gain social acceptance for their hobby. To 'prove' the 'innate gender identity' theory you need children, and as young as possible. We are collectively telling children a massive lie, that they can choose their sex, and it is causing untold damage. We are willing to sterilise children and medicalise them for life in support of a political theory which has no basis in science or reality. Along the way we have erased women's language, women's rights, female biology and the word 'woman' itself. I refuse to take part.

katand2kits · 25/08/2016 21:52

I am spartakat. I am a woman, not because of any sense of identity, but because of the sperm that fertilised the egg that made me. I cannot chose to identify out of any of the problems this fact of my conception has caused me.
you cannot change your sex any more that you can change your ethnicity. You can wear what you like, choose your own name, modify your body if that makes you happier. But don't expect me to accept sharing communal changing areas and being exposed to penises. Don't expect anyone to change their sexual boundaries because you say so. Don't shut down discussion of genuine concern to women just because it isn't all about you.

And for fucks sake, let kids be kids. A boy who likes pink princesses age 4 is not transgender.

avocadosweet · 25/08/2016 21:52

I am Avocado. I am not a cis woman. Transwomen are men. Men cannot become women.

I am Spartacus, hear me roar.

WatchMeSoar · 25/08/2016 21:52

I am Watch

There is no such thing as a female penis.

Never refer to me as cis.

IndominusRex · 25/08/2016 21:53

I am Indominus, hear me ROAR that gender is a social construct designed to oppress those with the biological sex of women

IBelieveTheEarthIsFlat · 25/08/2016 21:55

Sparetacus

Grin Hope you like your rename...

Very much with you

FantasticRik · 25/08/2016 21:55

I am Rik. I am also Sparticus.

Today I learned the term CIS and it's rubbish.

I am a woman and I accept that homosexual men do not find me sexually attractive and therefore do not wish to have sex with me.

This is not offensive, discriminatory or any kind of 'phobe'.

bigsnugglebunny · 25/08/2016 21:55

I am Spartacus

ScrambledSmegs · 25/08/2016 21:57

I'm Smegs and I love MN, but I need to stand up and be counted so I'm risking the banhammer.

Gender is a social construct. Biology is fact. Ladybrain is pseudo-scientific nonsense. You don't have to label everything and everyone, just let people BE.

That is all.

CreepingDogFart · 25/08/2016 21:57

I am a woman.
I am unable to bear children.
I am still a woman.
I was born a woman.
I am not cis.
I can never be a man despite the fact I cannot bear children.
A man can never be a woman.
If I adhere to a male stereotype I cannot be a man.
If a man adheres to a female stereotype he cannot be a woman.

I'd rather be banned than silenced.

frikadela01 · 25/08/2016 21:57

I am frik

Sex is a biological fact

Gender is some bullshit made up to fit people, mostly women, into neat little boxes.
The whole transagenda, gender fluid, non binary crap just reinforces and legitimises the ridiculous notion that gender is binary.

Anyway. Totally agree with everything on the thread.

I am spartacus

PinkIndustry · 25/08/2016 22:00

I am PinkIndustry and I know that penises are always male and lesbians, who are female and therefore don't have penises, are attracted to women so do not like having sex with penises (as penises belong to men only) and that is not only entirely logical but it is something that no one, especially not a man, has the right to deny them.

And I know that men cannot give birth or menstruate, as they don't have female biology, so when talking about birth/breast-feeding/periods etc, it is quite sensible to use the terms "women" and "females".

And, because I know all this, I think it's sensible to refer to men as "he" and women as "she" so as to avoid confusion or misunderstanding.
