I see Northern Irish posters are looking for their own section on Mumsnet.
May we have an Irish section please ?There appear to be lots of Irish posters on this brilliant forum.

laqueen probably didn't go to Scrum Diddly's then.

I'd say she'd be more of a Teddie's fan anyway.

But Teddies is down in the older part of Dun Laoghaire and Scrumdiddlies is nearer to the DART station end of DL. I believe that you can go into Teddies now and sit down to have your icecream (wasn't an option when I was a kid, always had to queue up at the hatch window thingy.

fakename there was a popular site called Magicmum but it hasn't been as active as it was in the past. There is also Eumum or Eumom (not sure which way they spell it) and both of those sites are .com sites.

That's Scrum Diddly's maryz

It's in my er, general vicinity.

DD got me a thing from there. It comes in a massive plastic cup and it took me about a week to eat it, I had to keep putting it back in the freezer. Teddy's all the way. A nice normal amount of ice cream in a nice edible cone. No litter- bonus!

Eddie's is gone fierce fancy - there are two windows and a van at the weekends. And they've started selling it in other shops Shock You can sit on the plaza above the windows, beside the gate to the people's park and even play chess while catching the drippy bits of your 99. I haven't defected to scrumdidlies yet, but my Italian friend is raving about it.

I'm in for a mammysnet.

Eh, Teddys, not Eddie's.

All of Dun Laoghaire is old watcha Grin

You still have to queue up at the window for Teddy's, although there is a sit-down cafe next door, but it doesn't do 99s and things.

The Co Council have created a nice sitting down place between Teddie's and the People's Park, where they've covered over the rail track. It's lovely, but it's outdoors.

Maryz, are you out Lucan direction? There's a couple who come out to the market in dunlaoghaire from lucan most Sundays for the sucking pig and a teddys. Both are worth the trip!

I'm in Scotland. We are liking Scotsnet. So I think it would be good for you to have an Irish section too.

I'm posting this to get your thread longer :o. I think there were probably only about a dozen of us on the Scotnet request page, we just kept it going by having a good old blether...

Anyway, I'd join you for a bit of the craic so I would.

H Maisie! I'm very much in the general vicinity of scrum diddly's myself! Will keep an eye out for any female in supervalu looking for naice ham or with kids munching Pom Bears Grin

I was on a thread a few years ago here looking for an Irishnet but clearly it never came to pass. Maybe this time with this... Ahem... Second referendum!

And agreed on teddys being the only place to get ice cream round here. I'm nit a fan of scrum diddly's with all those ridiculous toppings! Hmm

I'm a culchie so have absolutely no clue about teddies and what not. I am going to moan about the fact that all the lovalue shops have changed their ice cream counters to Carter D'or. I am not happy.

Omri, sadly Teddys seems to be trying to compete in the crazy toppings, someone ahead of me recently had a nutella/ferrero rocher combo.
