Offensive nicknames

I'm going to be flamed, I know!

I get that people just want to avoid being quoted in the Mail but - sigh - do we really have to have so many names with fuck, cunt, twat in them?

I'm not anti swearing but I've just had it drummed into me that these words are offensive. I don't mind, for instance, 'DP was 4 hours late and I am so fucked off, AIBU to rhink he's a twat?' I wouldn't personally but you know, free speech and all.

But that's very different to just having them there. I've just replied to another poster who's username is nothing but swear words and three of the sort generally considered to be most offensive.

I don't know; I just don't like it - does anyone feel the same as me? Or am I being cats-bum-mouthed?

I found that very funny for some reason

Ironically Paul Dacre is renowned for being very sweary and shouty, according to Private Eye.

I've had my name for 11 years

How long have you had yours?

There's someone on here called, anotherprickinthewall, that makes me laugh.

BeautifulMaudOHara · 12/06/2016 21:35

I agree with you OP, it's tedious and a bit childish really

Hmm. I was raised by a total prude who made my life hell in many ways, and so these days I enjoy a good old swear; I also instinctively trust people who swear much more than I trust prudes.

Having said that - because I never actually heard the word 'cunt' until I was about 21, to be honest it doesn't really feel like an awfully rude word, and I just think of it quite fondly. Smile

I can't bring myself to give any fucks about a sweary posters name. I rather like Anyfucker. It's a site for adults, hence there will be swearing.
Mummytobubba type names however, should be banned, stop, it is offensive.
