Heads up - new MN ios Talk app is shortly to be released into the app store

Hi Folks,
Our new Talk app is now live in the App Store. If you used the old app and didn't delete it then it should auto-update (depending on your settings) but otherwise you can download it from the app store.

This is a obviously a first live version - we plan to keep updating it, adding new features and addressing any user issues, so all feedback is most welcome.

Plus, we are planning to build an Android version too in the next few months - thanks for your patience re that Android users - we'll keep you updated on the progress and will be looking for Android testers in due course.

Can someone please tell me how to 'watch' a thread on the new iOS app?? Am I just being dumb (quite likely actually)???

ok, so i love the new app and am so happy to have an app back.

stupid question alert: when i bookmark certain comments, what happens to them? how do i see them again?

i'm gradually building up to what i had before e.g. favourite topics, watched posts, but have no clue about the bookmarks.

don't make me do bedtime without my one handed MN-apping, i beg you! :)

Ifiwasabadger bookmarking a post will jump you straight to that post when you return to the thread. It's handy for marking you're place so you don't have to scroll through again.

There are unanswered site stuff problems going on, and multiple threads that can't be opened on 30 days only. Can you please look into that (details on 'site stuff' in the past 24hrs). I believe reporting has also not worked there too. Thank you.

I'm having trouble scrolling on the app. I can scroll fine if I keep moving but when I stop I can only scroll by touching a username. If it's a long post and there's no user name I'm totally stuck and need to exit the thread. Am I missing something?!

I have been testing the app from the very beginning and I complained fed back about how rubbish it was not to have the dividing lines between posts.

Guess what? I love it now!

The app looks really nice. Some lovely features especially the original posters name highlighted in a different colour. Haven't read all of this thread so apologies if someone has already put this down. Would be great to have a search function.

MNerAnon yes, the posting problems should be sorted now. Have asked the relevant person if the broken threads can possibly be cleared up, but you can safely ignore them for the time being.

We've looked into reporting posts this morning, and there is indeed a problem which is being looked at.

It's a server problem, so it'll be fixed without any update of the app required.

I'll post back here when it's fixed. Thanks very much for your patience in the mean time.

Calliou could you let me know your device model and the version of iOS that you're using? We haven't seen any other reports of this kind of issue, so we'll have to try and reproduce your problem here in the office. Thanks a lot.

Thanks. It's iphone 5c IOS version 7.0.4

I can scroll posts horizontally by username (not sure why that's useful?) but can't scroll up and down between posts if I take my finger off the screen. Odd.

As a previous poster said the search function isn't as good as the old one. If the word I'm trying to type doesn't match the suggested words I can't search for it.
It's very frustrating!!!!

Hi there, just to clarify the search is currently only a topic search rather than advanced search. Advanced search is on the list for a future update.
