If you need to get in touch off of the boards, please email [email protected], we have a team of people working through the inbox now and will get back to you ASAP but please do bear with us, it's very busy.

aargh - sorry for the double post

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 13:14

I'd just assume the information is out there StephanieBeacham and act accordingly.

Tiredemma · 21/08/2015 13:17

Where does he say he is going to post more stuff?

MagpieCursedTea · 21/08/2015 13:18

Whoever was hosting his first website took it down, he's found a new host now so all the info is back up, just at a different address. Presumably the host is outside the UK so nothing the police can do.

All these Mumsnetters hoovering and baking in case they're swatted.

I can just imagine the conversation in local Armed Response Group control rooms - 'Well it's probably a hoax, Bob, but at least you should get a nice piece of cake out of it!' Grin

headlesslambrini · 21/08/2015 13:28

Simurgh I can't bake to save my life, but I have bathed the dog this morning, does that count?

TheTravellingLemon · 21/08/2015 13:31

I had a carrier bag full of poo in my front room for a time yesterday. That would have been interesting.

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 13:31

I don't know I'm afraid. I'm almost (almost) tempted to start an AIBU thread seeking advice on the protocol for such events. Wink

patterkiller · 21/08/2015 13:31

Oh god. I'm out of milk. Will they expect a cuppa?

Tiredemma · 21/08/2015 13:32

I thought his twitter was taken down? where is he posting now?

AttitcusFinchIsMyFather · 21/08/2015 13:34

He has at least one other twitter account that is active, I probably shouldn't link it here though.

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 13:34

All over the place probably, Tiredemma. For those of his acolytes that need the drama and can be bothered following him.

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 13:35

If I were you, I would refrain from posting any links at the moment, AtticusFinchIsMyFather.

A genuine question. How do the swat team operate? Do they knock? Do they put the doors down? Do they flood the area with light? Or do they silently go in with torches and night goggles? Do they use smoke granades? Do they bring helicopters?
watched too many movies

On the other hand, tip for the police from watching too many movies the perps often like to watch their own handy work. AND you covet what you see...
What would CI Barnby do?

Lweji · 21/08/2015 13:39

Barnaby, even.

iamaboveandBeyond · 21/08/2015 13:39

If they come here, i hope they've already had chicken pox, my house is still under quarantine! Grin

Jasonandyawegunorts · 21/08/2015 13:42

Im waiting to de-reg this account, to start again with another, anyone know if I can do that straight away or do I have to wait till this one is de-reg, do I then tell MN that ive got a new account?

Click on the "Mymumsnet" bar at the top right of the screen, select "My account" the scroll to the bottomof the page and choose "Account removal"

RebeccaMumsnet · 21/08/2015 13:52

@StephanieBeacham

MNHQ are you able to say anything to the effect that nobody, to your knowledge, had any visits from armed police last night?

I would be reassured to know. I understand if you can't comment on that though. Just ignore me if so.

Sadly, we have just been alerted to another swatting incident last night.
We are in touch with the police at the moment.

Please can we ask that you ignore him on Twitter, do not re post his links here or anywhere else. He/they thrive on attention and putting yourself out there ( no matter how noble and lovely you all are supporting us and fighting the good fight) for your own safety, please do not

We will keep you updated as and when we know more.

Please do keep yourselves safe and ignore, ignore, ignore.

It wouldn't be the SWAT team's fault after all but Jeffrey's.

If they hadn't done any damage, I would actually be quite grateful that the police had turned up to a report of something dodgy going on. There are many places in this world where you couldn't rely on that at all.

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2015 13:57

Is it really wise at the moment for HQ to be inviting members to fill in a form, giving their name and address etc, in order to possibly win a book?

Link to stickied thread

Can you guarantee the safety of the information you're asking people to send you?

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 13:59

Then HQ had better stay on these threads and keep saying that, Rebecca. (If you want to keep a lid on things that is.)

My sympathies to the user who was swatted last night. Flowers

StephanieBeacham · 21/08/2015 14:00

Thanks very much Rebecca. I'm going to stop posting on here unless I need guidance about the site and how to manage settings etc - I suggest we all do the same and also - if you want to take down any of my erm, provocative posts then please do feel free to Rebecca.

iamaboveandBeyond · 21/08/2015 14:01

Very good q worra - and looking back, we know the address/etc data cache for insight is kept seperately, but could the questionnaires have been phished at the filling in stage?
