Just wanted to let you know that your very generous gift had arrived and is going to make our Christmas extra special. I've not decided yet what to do with it but my wish-list has a balance bike for my 2yr old (3rd child and youngest so often overlooked) and a fluffy bath sheet for me (which has been there for ages as impossible to justify until now) and we can have both (if that's what I choose ).

So thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is so lovely to have such choices to make and be able to justify a bit of extra sparkle this year.

I am unbelievably grateful that not one, but two, very kind Mumsnetters have bought gifts for DS this year, which makes me even more embarrassed that I managed to mess up the thank yous as I didn't know to expect more than one gift.

I have received both of your gorgeous gifts and I want you to know how appreciated they are. DS has had a tough year battling (and so far beating) cancer so this Christmas is not only his first but one that we were very scared he might never see.

I lost my Mum a year ago tomorrow, and she would always send a parcel to our family for Christmas very much like the one I opened from you today. I don't think I've opened a parcel with such excitement since I was a child. I might have cried into the box a little! Everything is just perfect!

I'm stunned that anyone should do this. I genuinely feel I've done nothing special to deserve a gift. Due to recent bereavements Xmas is a slightly sad time for both my DS's and myself and this gift really cheered me up.
