I'm eating my battery using the site now. Gone from 99% to 92% and only been on for around five minutes. Mobile site isn't going to be usable for me in terms of battery life.
My customise options needs to be re customised daily, they keep resetting.
I'm also getting the problem with all of the elipses opening.
The numbers at the end of the thread title in TIO can't be number of pages as one I'm on only has two pages but the number five is showing at the end of it.
There's not a big enough divider between each post so they all kind of run together and I'm finding it hard paying attention to the individual usernames, it's like reading one long post. It gives me a headache.
I barely get any time on the laptop these days (three DC under the age of five) and I almost exclusively use MN on my mobile while BFing the baby. It's not something I'm going to be able to do anymore and I know it's melodramatic but I really do feel like I'm going to have to leave MN over it.
Please, please, please can it be put to a vote? This is more than people not liking change, it's a situation where a large number of users are being shut off from using MN because of their battery life (and charging the phone costs money!) or because it makes them feel ill or because it triggers medical conditions. Restore your reputation by putting your money where your mouth is and standing by the wants/needs of your members, members who have stood by the site for many years and make it what it is.
I also agree with the people says it doesn't feel warm and chatty anymore. It's sterile, cold, clinical. It looks like the mobile version of the Tesco website now and who wants to chat to a supermarket!?
I feel bad complaining because I'm betting you've all put a lot of time, effort and money into this but the complaints go far beyond a few grumbles and a few people being resistant to change. I'm sorry people don't like it, I used to work in R&D and system changes for 3000 staff were under our remit. We used to get so pissed off when they whinged about new features or the removal of old features. Extra fag breaks were had. Cake was eaten. Vodka was consumed. The words "ungrateful, miserable bastards" were muttered many, many times. But when it was something that genuinely wasn't workable we had to accept that the end users needed a system that was workable, suitable, and fit for purpose.
