Well!

I am fresh out of the shower from a fabulous camping trip in sunny Wales to a call from one of our lovely staff to say that there was a thread started by "Justine" that was really rather vile.

Apologies all, it seems as though we have some nasties hanging around and have managed to hack Justine's account.

Tech are onto it now and we are looking at in what happened.

Justine is on hols atm. Please do report anything odd that you see.

Thanks all and apologies.

I was kind of hoping it wasJustine. I was all 'Hear, hear!'

Freewheelin · 11/04/2014 18:42

Who was the hairy bloke in the picture?

Ohbyethen · 11/04/2014 18:42

Can I self servingly add my comment was the last on that thread that I saw and it was advocating a pay rise for MNHQ employees (in order that you field AIBU but still). So I was ready to picket for a pay rise written into your TUPE

Um...Will Justine be very cross? Or are we all practicing our innocent faces while we swear something was happening over there --> but we didn't see anything here. No sirree Bob? Just so I can get some mirror time in before she's back.

HoneyDragon · 11/04/2014 18:44

Hmmmmm does this mean we can have a massive bunfight and call each other names and then blaming it was our accounts that got hacked, and wasn't us honest guy'? Can we? Pleeeeeease?

AnyFucker · 11/04/2014 18:45

When I clicked this thread it said the security certificate did not match

Wtf?

BOFster · 11/04/2014 18:46

Stewart Lee is a wart, not a uart. I'd love to go out for a drink with him- and even more so his wife Bridget Christie. I hope she's on mumsnet.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 11/04/2014 18:46

Same for me, AF. Hmm

Joules68 · 11/04/2014 18:46

its going to be a busy evening....weekend even....has MNHQ got the cover this time??

SnakeyMcBadass · 11/04/2014 18:47

Same here AF

Ohbyethen · 11/04/2014 18:53

Snakey - have you really not heard the master piece 'Your mother's got a penis' or 'Guns don't kill people, rappers do'? I'm shocked.
Way back in the mists of time, 2003 I believe, something happened - rap birthed new kings and they greeted us lo 'Soap Bar' maybe they weren't kings, maybe they were princes?

Mocker · 11/04/2014 18:54

cheeky request. I asked in the last thread - just before it was deleted! - why people "mark their place" rather than just watch the thread.

Is it because they tick the 'watch this thread' button?

HoldOnHoldOnSoldier · 11/04/2014 18:56

Mocker people mark place to see the deletion message, If you are just watching the thread then it disappears and there is no message. :)

AWimbaWay · 11/04/2014 18:57

Could it have anything to do with that 'Heartbleed Bug' virus that's being talked about at the moment?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 11/04/2014 18:57

No, if you're watching the thread you get the deletion message too. I did.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 11/04/2014 18:58

Oh sorry, I did post on that thread, so as you were. Anyway, there's a proper deletion message now:

Message from MNHQ: This thread was removed by MNHQ following a hacking of Justine's account.

headlesslambrini · 11/04/2014 19:00

What's happened? DCs had my attention for less than 10 minutes and something has happened

TypicaLibra · 11/04/2014 19:00

If you google 'Am I Being Unreasonable JustineMumsnet', the thread is about the fifth one down, so you can see the new deletion message

I now know why people mark places now - I 'watched' the thread but didn't get the deletion message or any message at all.

FannyPriceless · 11/04/2014 19:05

I wish I had taken a screen shot so I could forensically analyse the text.

Or sell it to a newspaper.

ShamTech · 11/04/2014 19:15

Just to let you know we have checked this incident and agree with Rebecca that it appears only related to Justine's account. We're doing some other 'stuff' now to track the perpetrator.

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2014 19:19

Ooh 'track the perpetrator'. Duh-duh-Duuuuuuhhhhh!

HoneyDragon · 11/04/2014 19:20

Yes about that. How mild are Justine's dc and are they currently supervised? Grin

HoneyDragon · 11/04/2014 19:21

*mild?! OLD

BitOutOfPractice · 11/04/2014 19:22

I just had to log back in again - is this why?
