Well!

I am fresh out of the shower from a fabulous camping trip in sunny Wales to a call from one of our lovely staff to say that there was a thread started by "Justine" that was really rather vile.

Apologies all, it seems as though we have some nasties hanging around and have managed to hack Justine's account.

Tech are onto it now and we are looking at in what happened.

Justine is on hols atm. Please do report anything odd that you see.

Thanks all and apologies.

TheNightIsDark · 11/04/2014 20:01

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:04

Right, Maybe a good idea for us all to change our passwords in view of the Heartbleed Vulnerabiity?

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:05

As we should with all our online accounts in due course. Especially Amazon.

EmpireBiscuit · 11/04/2014 20:08

Hmmmm - cookies.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/04/2014 20:09

Amazon. Thank you Quint. I knew there was one I had forgotten.

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 11/04/2014 20:09

fwik Amazon wasn't vulnerable to heartbleed. One of the few.
facebook was and still is.
I'm working :-) , but will come back with a link later.

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:11

I heard amazon was, but to be honest that was not something I read somewhere, but heard in passing, so could be wrong.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 11/04/2014 20:15

We are tremendously sorry about all this upset on A FRIDAY NIGHT, just to be super duper clear.

LottieJenkins · 11/04/2014 20:16

Still happening! Very annoying!!!

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 11/04/2014 20:17

Oh, we are being told to remind everyone to hit 'keep me logged in' on all your various devices, fingers crossed that was it.

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:17

Gosh, I guess we are all worried that we will be taken over by poo trolls and Friday Night Sumbexers hacking us all, turning this into a golden shower opportunity.

StealthPolarBear · 11/04/2014 20:19

Thanks :) Glad it was mildly amusing/naughty rather than just vile (could have been a LOT worse).

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 11/04/2014 20:23

These are Very Reasonable Concerns, Quint, of course. But Tech is making reassuring and calm noises, honest. We will inform you immediately in the event that he becomes high-pitched.

crazynanna · 11/04/2014 20:23

Hey I am on my 3rd glass of house white
I am not going to remember my password for much longer

piscivorous · 11/04/2014 20:26

I'm relieved others have been logged out too. I thought I was being expelled for suggesting Justine had gone rogue and would have to be taken down with a tranquilliser dart Blush Sorry Justine! I'll just go and drink my gin quietly now.

LottieJenkins · 11/04/2014 20:26

I have ticked keep me logged in and it has made sod all difference!

SnakeyMcBadass · 11/04/2014 20:30

Yep, it keeps booting me regardless of ticking the box.

SauceForTheGander · 11/04/2014 20:32

Has Justine left someone housesitting

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 11/04/2014 20:32

Okay, noted. I am passing this on. Apologies again, everyone, there is Much Scuttling behind the scenes and your feedback is utterly invaluable, many thanks.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 11/04/2014 20:33

Just checked the GitHub list and it has facebook listed as being not vulnerable.

Have they tried switching it off and back on again?

Quinteszilla · 11/04/2014 20:42

If that does not work, you need to go to the server center, take out one server at the time, and rinse in disinfectant. Spray quite liberally. It should work,
