It's logging me out... again!

Anytime I navigate away from MNet (I know, I do try not to do it, but sometimes I need to look at other sites 'kay? ) I'm logged out and have to log back in again. Even if I have two tabs running, it happens when I switch from one to the other.

I've tried it on a variety of devices and browsers;

• iPhone running latest software update (7.1?) and using Safari & Chrome.
• Kindle Fire using Chrome and Silk
• Laptop running Windows 7 and using Chrome & Firefox. I couldn't bring myself to try IE.

It's not the end of the world, but it is annoying.

Tech did sort it last time, but whatever he/she/they have upgraded has reset it for me (at least!).

Firefox browser: logging me out when the browser closes / restarts.

Happened to me tonight on iPhone, MacBook and iPad. I have the keep me logged in but checked. V frustrating......... :(

No not in private mode, I've had that problem before!

I've just had to log myself in for the first time in aaaages and I thought it a bit strange as I don't remember the last time I did it. I use a kindle fire, my browser is silk and I always close tabs down but never have to log back in when I reopen them.

unlucky83 - if someone knows your username and password, they can pretend to be you. They may be able to change your password (though the system may email a confirmation to you, so that may not help them).
If you use the same password for all sorts of websites, then they could login to other sites, such as paypal, which could then be used to transfer funds. So WORST CASE is that if you have PayPal or other money transfer systems, someone could access those - but it is unlikely and you should not be using the same password for financial sites.

Every time I close browser it is logging me out - on the log in page the 'remember me' is checked - and I have always had it set up that way - never usually log in.
As a test I unchecked and rechecked the box, closed the browser and tried again - and it had logged me out...
(I have cleared my cookies, history etc too)

Happening to me too, Windows 8.1, Firefox 28.0, not private mode, keep me logged in ticked.

Logs me out every time I navigate away from the page. Box ticked. Using internet explorer on laptop.

I just closed my safari browser and it logged me out, seems OK though if I just go to other websites though. It had logged me out on iPhone and iPad both safari. box is ticked on all devices and no private browsing

happened to me for the first time this evening (twice) - previously I stayed logged in ok. Using Firefox and keep me logged in definately ticked. Assumed you had done it for security, so if you haven't it's all a bit mystifying.

Actually thinking about it - I left MN open, mid thread for a while and it had logged me out too earlier...

(Nanny - that's a relief - that's why I have such rubbish p/ws for things like MN - keep the good strong ones for email, amazon, ebay, paypal, banking!)

I wondered why MN looked different then realised I was logged out. Using Firefox

For those on iPad and not using the App (tip: Use the App, it is working)
What happened to cause the logout? Did you open a new tab in the browser? Did the iPad screen lock/power down?

iPad with latest update.

I moved from Safari to Facebook app, went back to Safari and it had logged me out. Giving up and going to bed.

just gone back to ipad, opened cover, entered passcode, refreshed mumsnet tab, & it requires logging in again

Ok thanks for the feedback. I can see the problem so I'm working on a fix.

Mine logged out for the first time in ages too.
I hadn't closed the window, I was just browsing in another window - the 2 had been open for ages.

I'm on a Mac, using Safari 5.1.10 (wow, that's old !)

I always close the cover! but it doesn't normally log me out when I do (until the last couple of weeks)
