Why can't I change my nickname?

I go through the motions, change name and enter password to save changes and it just reverts to current name. Very annoying! Any hints?

OK, laptop, Win8, Safari. It has changed it.

However, when in My account (from My Mumsnet) the change doesn't show so I thought it hadn't worked, ie, when the changes have been saved the name showing on the page is the original one and not the one you've changed to.

Then I came to this thread, and the name above this box was the name I've just changed to (which didn't appear on the My account page after saving). That made me confused about which name would actually appear when I posted, so I posted a blank.

Does that help?

Oh bother. I was trying some new nicknames to see if it was fixed a Leonard Cohen theme if you must know and now I can't get back to yourlittlesecret.
I don't want to stay with this as I post on a couple of long running threads and need to keep my proper NN.

Well that's weird.
It said chelseahotel when I previewed and when I pressed post it reverted to yourlittlesecret.

I won't play with it again until you say it's mended.

I was complaining of this a few days ago where were you all then? and then it let me and It screwed up and posted my name changes on the screen and HQ had to delete it!

Hi, having trouble too...it's sporadic (on PC at home) attempted to name change 8 times...failed 7 times and now suddenly I am me again......

If I send a pm in one name, my name automatically changes to that.

Just changed my name. The My Account page still showed my name as Jux. The message box here shows Jux.

Let's see what it does when I actually post.

Ipad here and I can't get my name to change

Which is a shame because I thought of a good one!

I know you can't use someone's else's name (obviously) but is there a time limit?

If I don't come back for a year could someone else use the name? If not could something like that be put in place
