Did you ban John Hemming (the MP) for outing me ?

CarpeVinum · 21/12/2013 23:47

Cos he isn't on The Thread.

And I'd like to know why.

I am immaginging that the party whip we've been phoning, emailing and twittering has tied him up and run off with his keyboard.

Can I hang on to that fantasy, or did you ban him ?

It's not the end of the world to me that he posted my twitter account, knowing it was me and knowing it was my real name. But I will quickly drum up some minding if required to purge MN of his presence.

Doesn't it normally say something like this user has been banned or something, when you click on the name? I might be lying though. Confused I'm sure I've seen something like that before though.

VworpVworp · 22/12/2013 00:41

Isn't this a little surreal?

Whyever would a British MP out you?

MrsWembley · 22/12/2013 00:43

Ooh, what's been going on?

BrianTheMole · 22/12/2013 00:52

Isn't this a little surreal?

Well in fairness, having vaguely followed one of the threads he has participated in recently, he does seem a little ..hmm, whats the right word oh yes, a little unusual Grin

IamtheZombie · 22/12/2013 01:02

He did WHAT???

That's absolutely vile, Carpe.

CalorHousewifeoftheYear · 22/12/2013 01:04

Unusual is one word for him, yes

VworpVworp · 22/12/2013 01:13

I don't think unusual is actually the word I would use... Hmm

I would like to know why though carpe, please?

BrianTheMole · 22/12/2013 01:50

It only takes a little thread searching and a lot of reading to figure it Vworp. Its not hard. Smile

CarpeVinum · 22/12/2013 07:49

Well, quite Zombie, but then he outed the names of three minors on the same thread too, so just can't help himself ?

It's not actually the end of the world to me that people here know my name. But he cannot possibly have known that when he posted.

"Conversation" with John Hemming is surreal.

He outed me becuase I have reported him to the court of judge Munby for breech of a court order prohiniting the naming in public spaces of a baby girl.

Plus I emailed screen shots to guardian in the first instance, cos I wasn't sure how to get hold of any authority fignures back in Britain the night it happened.

And I handed the screen shots to a Briton to pass on to the LA who are responsible for the baby.

Oh, and I sent sky news and all his political opponants and the libdem party whip a tweet of a screenshot of John telling us he was driving his mumsnet account under the influence.

Plus other tweeting I did.

Bascially I have spent a week trying to have him held to account for not exactly lawful behavoir that would shock me rigid if it was being done by a politico here is Italy. Let a lone a bloody British one.

OP posts:
CarpeVinum · 22/12/2013 07:57

It has been a team effort by the way. The are people workingntheir butts off both sides of thenapls tomhave him held to account. But other mners don't have their twitter accounts in their real names.

But I only really use mine for talking to fellow students on a MOOC, and they sort of need to know who I am.

Tiredemma · 22/12/2013 08:00

I've always thought he was a bit odd.

Well I was one and look what happened to me. There is another poster also trying to raise awareness of what he has done, (which is more than I've put on this thread) and he constantly threatens her on the thread to report her to he professional body.

It's not surpising people end up ignoring unlawful behavoir, let alone "behavoir unbecomeing of a public offical" if we the little people reproting it are the only ones who end up on the sharp end, reported to our prof. bodies or having our names outed on the thread....while he carries on getting away with... whatever he feels like on any particular day.

OP posts:
CarpeVinum · 22/12/2013 08:14

I am incidentally not going to stop publicing what he has done.

I live in Italy, there is not a lot he can do to me compared to people licing in the UK.

He has done his worst, posting my full name of MN. And the worst outcome ofthat is that after ten years of estrangment my mother tracks me down here and starts agreeing eith ahemming that I am an awfulawful person.

But I don't fancey her chances against you lot. So ... not overly concerned.

Its the principle that grates though. There is no way he could have known that my reaction was going to be, "oh well".

Others could have been left up shit creek without a paddle.

And I suspect that was the hope when he posted my named account on the thread.

Seriously people, if you wanted a poor man's Berlusconi that badly, we'd have given the original away for free. no export duty or anything.Grin

OP posts:
lougle · 22/12/2013 08:36

Have you seen any response from the bodies you tweeted, etc?

DoItTooBabyJesus · 22/12/2013 08:44

What's going on?

What has he done?

CarpeVinum · 22/12/2013 08:46

Well the clerk of the president of Munby's court said it is in the hands of senior civil servants. But ...it's been over a week now and nada.

Tim Farron has handed everything to the party whip. But the same day that happened Hemming started to post "not sober" and the day after he outed my name, so don't think that had much effect.

By and large ordinary people are "wtf?" but in actual concrete terms of being held to account..... not seen anything happen and he just comes back to mumsnets saying it's US that brecched the court order by passing on screen shots to report him to various bodies, and not him cos when he did it ..it was just a "mistake" and that doesn't count cos he has parlimentary prividiledge and could name the baby in the HofC so >>>

And I begging to think for all he has done We'll not so much as managed to get him banned from here, let alone be made to reflect on his liteny of "teeny tiny mistakes that don't count cos I'm an MP donchaknow"

CarpeVinum · 22/12/2013 08:48

I still have all the threads complete with posts prior to deletion should anybody wish for a copy.

SantasPelvicFloor · 22/12/2013 08:58

Carpe. I was really shocked when I read the other thread.

  1. to think that an MP can post inaccuracies and pass them off as 'evidence' then get defensive when questioned over the sources.
  2. ignore media restrictions and name children under care proceedings and then say he has parliamentary protection completely ignoring what the intent of that is for (I.e. Not so you can spout on a social forum without consequence)
  3. bully an individual calling him to account by 'accidentally' exposing her full name.

There was no reason to out you or another MN. No public interest, no demonstration that you had a link to him which meant you were on a vendetta. He didn't like the bad press he was getting and is hoping to silence everyone.

Arrogant
Bully
Lacks integrity

Is this a typical example of a lib dem MP nowadays?
