Following on from the news of the release of our shiny new Android app, we are vair pleased to announce the release of the new and improved iPhone and iPad app.

All of our Talk apps are free to download and you can find lots more info on all things mobile here including an easy to scan and download QR code to get the mobile version on your phone.

Please do take a look and come back and tell us what you think.

iPad version keeps crashing for me if I try and get to the end of a thread. This thread, for example, so I can't actually see if anyone has already raised this issue Grin Oh and no bookmarks. I lurves me bookmarks!

Pickles77 · 30/11/2012 11:02

Can we have a most active thingy on the iPhone app please Wink

MediumOrchid · 30/11/2012 11:29

A couple of comments on the android app. Firstly, thanks for making one! It is looking pretty good. I will agree that we need to have the op posts highlighted throughout the thread - I can't cope without that!

Often when I open the app the advert at the bottom flickers between the bottom and the middle of the screen. this stops when I refresh the page. I'm using an HTC one X.

Finally, when I type a message the keyboard doesn't automatically put a capital after a full stop like it usually does. Not sure if this is an issue with the app or the phone though.

Thanks again!

Wah my IPod touch is almost 2 years old and is 4.2 so so new app isn't supported Sad

AtLongLast · 30/11/2012 11:47

I read some of the early reviews about the Android app & nearly didn't bother to download. Very glad I did though, I really like it! Read lots using it & posted a little. Do have the little problem of no auto capital after a full stop...

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 12:39

Do the Scottish smileys work on here?
Testing

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 12:39

That'll be a no Sad

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 14:21

Mine just crashes on my iPhone, anyone know why, and if I can get the old app back?

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 14:25

Seems to be ok on the iPad :)

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 14:26

Then I remembered I was using safari and not the app..... Blush

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 14:28

Nope, just crashes on the iPad Hmm

Oh pants, what will I do without mumsnet at my fingertips Hmm

The iPad app looks good, but I can't use it Hmm

CointreauVersial · 30/11/2012 15:44

Using the Android app in the car right now while waiting for DS to appear from school. Like the easy smileys!Smile Smile

Good job mumsnet. But why doesn't it automatically put a capital at the start of my sentences, like all other applications do? Strange.

CuriosityCola · 30/11/2012 15:55

This new iPhone app looks good, but keeps crashing all the time Confused

I can't get onto my usual threads

CuriosityCola · 30/11/2012 15:58

There was a petulant stamping of foot in bracketsWink

BabylonPI · 30/11/2012 15:59

Well I've deleted, reinstalled several times to no avail HmmHmm

Looks like its a no go for me Hmm

Biscuitsandtinsel · 30/11/2012 17:10

I don't have the problem with the lack of capital letters (using an iPhone 4S) Hmm

OhYoubadbadKitten · 30/11/2012 17:14

No windows 7 phone app :( but your mobile site works quite well.....

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 17:27

Can I just say that the title of this thread is so good it has made me cry a little bit at the thought of little apps running around.

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 17:28

Damn the invisibility cloak of the pointy brackets!!!

I also added some mad hormonal thing no doubt

Terrywoganstrousers · 30/11/2012 17:35

I have discovered another problem. Confused
I was just trying to use the search function and limiting it to one topic- pregnancy.
Unfortunately the drop down list to choose from only goes as far as Mumsnet Local in the alphabet, so Pregnancy has no chance AngryAngrySad

CointreauVersial · 30/11/2012 17:57

Biscuits - presumably it's just the Android app having capitals problems.

skyebluesapphire · 30/11/2012 19:14

It wont accept my username and login, do I need to create a new one for the iphone app????

thingy1 · 30/11/2012 20:13

Another problem with the search tool is if I choose the post (rather then thread) in the search list results then it just displays a blank white page.

Hope that makes sense.

FeatherDownDuvet · 30/11/2012 20:59

Can you make it so you can log in with either your username or email address, like the website, rather than just your username?

BitBewildered · 30/11/2012 21:02

Pointy brackets turn things invisible for me too. It keeps crashing, and I used to really like the 'Most Active' option on the old (iPhone) app, which I can't find. The only thing I wanted was to be able to bookmark! Sad
