I have reported it 3 times today, 1 before 9am.
Heard nothing from them.

What racism?

B1ueberryMuff1n · 13/11/2012 14:54

they're always really slow to remove a thread/post. it's annoying as there's no edit button. i have regretted the odd 'overshare' and asked them to delete a post and it usually takes a good while. I think they only check reported posts about twice a day.

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 14:59

Racism was on a thread last night.
There were 2 posters doing it.
I thought the first may have been accidental. not sure.
I left the thread and went to bed.
Poster number 1 basically repeated it again this morning.
I reported, approx 8 am. Again approx 10am, and again 1.30pm.
Heard nothing.

If they are only checking reported posts twice daily, that is not often enough.

They have now deleted 2 out of the 3. Interestingly, they said because they were personal attacks. They did not mention racism.
They have not deleted the 3rd one. I have reported it once more.

I have seen MNHQ delete racist remarks many times in the past. I think it unlikely they have changed their policy in favour of letting racism stand Hmm

Have you tried emailing them? I have always received a response when I have done this (although not always within 5 minutes, and not always the response was hoping for Grin)

MN is humungous, they can't read every thread in real time.

Greensleeves · 13/11/2012 15:21

what thread are you on about? link to it so we can pronounce give an opinion

goralka · 13/11/2012 15:21

yes link to it please

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 15:24

They have now deleted the 3rd post

OP posts:
amillionyears · 13/11/2012 15:25

I am a bit loathe to link it.
I think the op hid the thread.
The op had french connections.
2 posters were using the word frog.

OP posts:
Greensleeves · 13/11/2012 15:27

so you complained, and they deleted it all within a few hours?

job's a good 'un then!

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 15:43

They deleted them after I started this thread.

OP posts:
BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 15:52

but they have been deleted?

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 15:56

Yes, they are all deleted now.
They started to get deleted 20 minutes after I started this thread.

OP posts:
HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 15:56

do you mean frog is racist?

Greensleeves · 13/11/2012 15:57

What are you suggesting, that MNHQ felt somehow threatened or compelled by you starting this thread into doing something they weren't otherwise going to do?

Really?

Next time, just wait!

BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 15:59

well then.

unless greeny's right.

hully, I used to collect frogs. I love 'em.

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 16:02

French people? Where did you keep them?

Greensleeves · 13/11/2012 16:03

Hully what the fuck are you doing in that Easter frock? In this weather?

It is making me twitch

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 16:04

I'm ahead of the curve

PoppyAmex · 13/11/2012 16:09

Is "frog" racist?

I thought it was like "kiwi" for New Zealanders or "yank" for Americans?

VirginiaDare · 13/11/2012 16:10

Pretty sure that french is not a race, by any stretch, and frog is not racist.

CindySherman · 13/11/2012 16:12

Good grief

BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 16:14

I was going to say, its xenophobia, isn't it? Not racism?

No. Frogs. And toads. And spiders.

Sorry that it took us a while - inbox is on fire today

We most certainly do NOT only check reports a couple of times a day; we check them constantly. But how quickly we can deal with them depends on how big our inbox is - and it's been a bit humongous today
