How long should a thread be left up after we are informed it is going to be deleted?

Because I don't think that four minutes is enough of a warning, I really don't Sad

You know it will just mean threads about threads, because people who don't press F5 every minute see what looks like a totally valid question getting wiped out.

If we are going to invoke the Olympic Spirit, may I politely suggest one that leans towards London rather than Beijing?

No, no, now you're getting us mixed up, Reality. Or do I really like bumsex? Confused

GetOrfMoiRing · 31/07/2012 20:06

I can't take the credit - honeydragon thought of this name and told me to change it. Grin

LRDtheFeministDragon · 31/07/2012 20:08

She's not a child, mary, even if you do think it's right to tell children to do that.

She didn't even get a reply when she told MN she didn't do what they said. I can see why whoever got the email thought she wasn't wanting one, but it's not exceedingly clear she would actually like to know what the heck happened, so I am hoping they'll get in touch and hammer it all out.

I've never been warned for anything (smug arselicker that I am), so I don't know what happens - but if you're saying you've been warned loads, and she's been warned for one post on one thread plus possibly something else ... it does seem like they got it wrong this time.

Despite, of course, being utterly wonderful.

In fact, I reckon Olivia is so wonderful, BOF substituted olive for laurel just as a subtle tribute to her loveliness.

Etc. etc.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 31/07/2012 20:08

getorf, your name makes me snigger in a mature and dignified way every time I see it. Smile

ohChristFENTON · 31/07/2012 20:09

Someone care to fill me in on what's happened while I've been watching the Olympics? You can talk in code if you like - I think I kind of get the gist....

I think I may be taking a holiday from here, I know, I know stop yer blubbing.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 31/07/2012 20:10

'it's now* exceedingly clear ...'. Not 'it's not exeedingly clear ...' in my post at 20:08.

I blame MN. I used to be literate and everything before I came on here.

I've had a few posts deleted.. Is that the same as warning?

Some of its a bit shit I agree, I'm just ignoring all the drama-llamas now.

MarygoeZforgold · 31/07/2012 20:16

Oh, my warnings were never for being narsty, btw. I'm not narsty at all, I just get my teeth into things sometimes. I think my "shut up now, that's enough" warnings were for my extended dealings with Melvin and Penandink.

And I still promised to stop, even though I knew I was right. Because it's mumsnet's site, they are allowed to make the rules, and if I don't want to stick to them I can always leave. And I don't want to.

ohChristFENTON · 31/07/2012 20:17

I am always apologising for stuff i shouldnt need to, it's a kind of affliction Grin

There have been some funny threads elsewhere on MN today, outside of the drama zone.

MarygoeZforgold · 31/07/2012 20:19

It's a full moon usual, it always goes a bit nuts.

usualsuspect · 31/07/2012 20:21

I can cope with the nuts threads. MN was pissing me off big time last night then a barmy thread popped up and I was on here till gone midnight again Grin
