Because there are so many. And they are so unpleasant.

Pretty please...

Katie

I think in this instance 'satisfied leftie' is covered by 'people with a little humanity'. So it would be pretty inclusive

And yet many of them would happily ghettoise people into poorer areas cityhobgoblin. I think there's a natural justice in doing the same to them. At least threads on the internet is easier to achieve and undo than some of the RL solutions being proposed.

CardyMow · 24/01/2012 11:38

Yes please. Then I can go on and try to educate people when I feel up to it, and ignore them without them being stuffed in my face when I'm not!

Chubfuddler · 24/01/2012 11:38

That sounds fabulous helium. I wonder if someone at cchq will order me a pizza if I start a thread about it.

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 11:39

Yes you are right Pag.

Hullygully · 24/01/2012 11:39

oh dear I've started being rude again

QUICK MNHQ!

TheBigmouthBugle · 24/01/2012 11:40

I'm with you Pagwatch. I spent the wee small hours searching the site for a facility that allows you to filter certain words. It might be there, I couldn't find it though.

I want to filter benefits, cap, David Cameron, working poor, scroungers, in fact its a very long list.

Hellooo Knotty, tis your twin! Are you Year of the Dragon?

Chubfuddler · 24/01/2012 11:41

Oh pag you are not stupid you can't really think that there isn't a shred of humanity in anyone who voted conservative. That's just lazy.

Anyway I am not interested in a bun fight or indeed shooting people.

Pagwatch · 24/01/2012 11:44

I haven't said anything about conservative voters chubfuddler.

So not sure what your point is.

Unless you are saying that ' those who lack humanity' = conservative voter

OP posts:
TeWihara · 24/01/2012 11:45

I would not be opposed to this.

I don't mind answering questions and explaining what the problem is, but what's the fucking point when they don't read what you write??

Chubfuddler · 24/01/2012 11:45

Well you equated leftie with having humanity, which suggests you think anyone who is not a leftie has no humanity. If I am wrong about that and that is not what you think then I'm very glad.

KatieMiddleton · 24/01/2012 11:47

Am I on the same thread as everyone else or is there some creative reading going on here?

MmeLindor. · 24/01/2012 11:50

Yes, agree.

Like Te, I don't mind discussing the cuts and pointing out discrepancies, but I do have the feeling that 80% of those reading have made up their minds without even reading a single article about the cap (the DM does not count).

Could we make it a provision that anyone who posts on these threads has to agree to read a wide range of papers and blogs, and answer questions on the actual ins and outs of the proposed changes.

MmeLindor. · 24/01/2012 11:51

Not politically satisfied, but I have just had a rather yummy homemade pizza.

Better add smug to that description.

PinotMN · 24/01/2012 11:52

I haven't seen them.

I'm in a grouchy mood so I shall search them out and unleash my inner bitch

Pagwatch · 24/01/2012 11:52

Actually what I responded to was your rather sneering 'self satisfied leftie' comment.
As you had come on to my thread which is about some of the vile comments about people on benefits, and suggested that objecting to such vileness = lefty I was simply more accurately articulating the type of person who I wish to avoid. If objecting to vile shit being thrown at people on benefits = lefty then lefty = person with a smudge of humanity

You then equated the opposite of that to be 'conservative voter.

So i think what happened was that you posted 'i am not interested in a bun fight' but in a way that made me think you probably are

OP posts:
TeWihara · 24/01/2012 11:53

chub I believe the implication was actually that those who can't be sympathetic to those very real people in difficult situations who will be affected by the cap as lacking in humanity.

KnottyLocks · 24/01/2012 11:55

Ah, BigMouthBugle... Grin

Chubfuddler · 24/01/2012 11:56

No I'm really not. Those threads are all entirely predictable, I'd rather not read them. A few I have inadvertently opened because they are in chat or Aibu and the mn app cuts thread titles very short so it isn't always clear what threads are about.

There's a lot of unpleasantness on mn on this subject and it's really not just in one direction.

HarrietJones · 24/01/2012 11:56

I'm in the unsatisfied lefty corner (although 6 hot cross buns may sate my hunger)

Can we please tidy up the benefits threads ? Do we have a benefit bashing topic?

PinotMN · 24/01/2012 11:58

I read a bit of one. I haven't posted.

But I am a bit shocked at the names pf posters being such arseholes on them.

Bossybritches22 · 24/01/2012 12:00

Personally my response to Pags was on a groan at the duplication, not the CONTENT of said threads so please don't turn this one into a nother battleground!

As KM said polite & tidy Grin

Pagwatch · 24/01/2012 12:02

Yes bossy
That is the point. You are quite right.

I just want them all in one place

OP posts:
Hullygully · 24/01/2012 12:04

so it's easier to shoot them
