Ahoy hoy mnhq - you aren't going to do anything about AIBU, are you?

You are sticking your fingers in your ears and going la la la and pretending not to notice that aibu is just awful?

OP posts:
MonstrouslyNarkyPuffin · 27/10/2011 15:23

Is that like the Verruca Gnome?

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:24

I really like AIBU.

I have just had a mini-row about Linda Barker.

You don't get that on other forums.

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:26

Actually, I really, really want to cull about 70% of topics. Most of them are nonsense. Why can we not just have a pets topic, for instance, there is no need for doghouse, cathome, fishnet, fucking hamsters.com etc.

HelenMumsnet · 27/10/2011 15:26

@Hullygully

There's another one right now, Helen.

If you gave them their own topic, they could all get off happily on their poo doings together and leave the rest of us alone.

But have you reported it, Hully?

Unfortunately, we don't yet have a siren that goes off at MNHQ when you post "poo troll" although it's quite a tempting idea

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:26

Oh come on, fucking hamsters is always fun.

I don't even notice what topics things are in, I just click if the thread sounds interesting or someone I like is on it.

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:27

No I haven't miss cos they nicked my button, innit.

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:29

I have reported it now. I gave them some fags for my button.

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:31

I don't notice either tbh. But some people hide topics don't they and that means that the proper posting place doesn't get much traffic, so people think sod it and go on chat or aibu.

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:33

There are about a dozen topic headings - e.g. Becoming a parent, being a parent etc. Why can we not have just the topic headings instead of the sub-topics. There is no need really. It is not necessary to have baby seats, highchairs etc, just have an overarching Products topic for the whole lot, and if you are looking for highchair threads used the search facility.

Actually I may start a thread to bore on about this subject.

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:35

Oh go on then.

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:37

Yiu could at least lie and pretend to be interested. Grin

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:39

I am I am not

I feel sorry for MNHQ. Everyone says, Ooo we want this topic, we want that one, and they create them all and then another load come along saying, Ooo there are far too many, can't we cut and simplify?

It's like a metaphor for summat, innit?

SinicalSal · 27/10/2011 15:40

yes but WHERE will you start the topic GetOrf? there should be a 'Topic' topic

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:41

Yeah it's like a biblical story.

MN should put their foot down in the first place years ago. None of this expansive yes yes yes to whatever fools people ask for. They should be more soviet in outlook, limit the choice and people should be happy with what they get. Grin

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:41

Yes.

We need:

  1. Topic topic
  2. Poo Topic
3 Frothing Berserker Topic

Get rid of all the dull baby stuff.

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:42

Yeah, who gives a fuck about breastfeeding after all.

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:43

Birthing plans hahahahahahahaha

Names. Is Emily too popular?

Will people laugh at Finlandia Happenstance?

GetOrfMo1Land · 27/10/2011 15:46

They didn't have birth plans in devon when I had dd.

It was 'lie down on that bed and stop that noise'

Hullygully · 27/10/2011 15:48

yy, a friend showed me one the other day with pieces of music and accompanying different aromatherapy oils..how I sniggered.

HelenMumsnet · 27/10/2011 15:49

Me either, GetOrf. I was told I was "mooing like a cow and it was putting the other labouring women off" Blush

I was told to be quiet and stop making a fuss and 'don't be ridiculous you don't need to push'. 20 minutes later dd was born.

And they wheeled the gas away saying that I had had enough. Bastards.
