Hello,
You can now view a mobile friendly version of Mumsnet using m.mumsnet.com/

Hope you find that easier - do let us know your feedback.

I don't like it :( I hope the app doesn't look like this.
Maybe because I'm on an iPhone and have a nice big screen but I prefer the regular web page.

GuernseyFrench · 09/10/2010 08:41

I like it, it's far more easier to use.

Lovinmybois · 09/10/2010 08:43

Just practising. I want need a lap top. Big grin I couldn't leave a message on the mobile friendly version!? Otherwise it seems ok.

Lovinmybois · 09/10/2010 08:45

Grin grin sorry about this! Ha ha!

Lovinmybois · 09/10/2010 08:46

YAY sussed it!

maamalady · 09/10/2010 08:48

I prefer the usual site - mobile version gives massive text size, even when I make it as small as I can it's far too large. I don't want people to be able to read over my shoulder, and it feels like I'm being shouted at. I haven't tried posting a message because I got halfway down the page and then got too irritated with everything being in size giant. I am posting now from the usual MN on my HTC using the standard browser.

HouseOfBamboo · 09/10/2010 09:17

BTW I can't log in via the Log In link on standard MN on my HTC either (get non-zoomable Log In screen, and no typing keys). I can get round it by entering my details when I post, then it keeps me logged in.

I've tried doing that on MN Mobile on my HTC, but it doesn't work.

Incidentally, is it usual that you can only be logged in on one machine at a time? If I log in on my HTC, I get automatically logged out on my PC if they are both on.

RustyBear · 09/10/2010 09:38

I'm frequently logged in on iPhone, iPad, home laptop and work laptop all at the same time. I very rarely deliberately logout But I find that if I use a pc at work which I haven't used before, or not for a long time, I will have to log in - and then when I go back to my other computers/gadgets, which were logged in before, they will now be logged out and I have to log in again. I mentioned this once before and one of the techs (can't remember which) said it sounded like a bug.

Yesterday when I was trying out the mobile version, I logged in & posted Ok and had the version without pages, as per my normal settings. When I opened the mobile site the second time, I could see Threads I'm On, so presumably I was still logged in, but it had pages and my name & password weren't in the posting boxes. I put them in and posted, next time I came back they were still there and the pages had disappeared.

clam · 09/10/2010 09:46

Yay! Am about to go away for a week without laptop and can now satisfy my mumsnet craving from my iphone. Was too much of a faff before as involved endless scrolling if I wanted text large enough to read.

Thanks guys.

DanceInTheDark · 09/10/2010 10:12

I can't post or reply to threads on the mobile version on either blackberry or Opera Mini.

PuppyMonkey · 09/10/2010 11:43

Tbh, I tried the mobile for a bit last night, but it felt so strange and un-mn like, have gone back to normal web version - which makes me feel much happier. Just have to wear my glasses and I'm fine!

dreamworldfullofUNICORNS · 09/10/2010 12:12

I've never been able to log-in on my blackberry before - I have now done so on the mobile -version, but apart from that it is pretty unusable tbh, one word per line in huge writing is just too irritating and I couldnt post. But now I'm logged in, Im using the standard version no problem - I just have to squint a little!

MmeLindt · 09/10/2010 14:33

Oh, very good. All working fine on my iPhone.

Not sure if I will use it on iPad as the font is so big. Be good for MN while doing something else.

MummyBerryJuice · 09/10/2010 15:03

Looks good. Much, much easier and faster than before. As I commode of my MNing on my iPhone I'm sure it'll make my life easier.

(Still want a 'proper' app thought!)

MummyBerryJuice · 09/10/2010 15:08

How do you PM another pelted on this?

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 09/10/2010 15:10

Sorry needs a lot of work, font size is huge which I can resize but it goes back to huge when I post which usually means more scrolling.

PandaEis · 09/10/2010 15:36

marking my place! i will have a go when i finish hell day 2010 workWink

MummyBerryJuice · 09/10/2010 15:56

The active conversation list does not update at all. This s very frustrating

RustyBear · 09/10/2010 15:59

MummyBerryJuice- your iPhone is doing some strange autocorrecting there! I am assuming pelted = poster and commode = do most....

PandaEis · 09/10/2010 16:14

Oooh i LIKE it!!

DollyTwat · 09/10/2010 16:17

Looking good. Much easier.

May be a tech problem but threads I'm watching have no replies. None of them. Which cxnt be right

ruddynorah · 09/10/2010 16:58

Yes love it now I've set the text to tiny. Before it was LIKE EVERYONE WAS SHOUTING! I'm on Android too.

Tech · 09/10/2010 17:00

Hi there,

We're aware of the problem with Active Convos not updating properly. We're working on a permanent fix but in the meantime we've hopefully made it so it's never more than a minute or so out of date.

Regards,
Tech

MummyBerryJuice · 09/10/2010 17:18

Lol rusty. I didn't notice. Grin Will preview all posts in future.

DanceInTheDark · 09/10/2010 19:17
