Hello,
You can now view a mobile friendly version of Mumsnet using m.mumsnet.com/

Hope you find that easier - do let us know your feedback.

doesn't work for me, I am afraid Sad the typeface is rendered absolutely HUGE - I mean really huge, so that there are about eight or nine words on the whole screen at a time.

I am using a Hero, running Android 2.1

hillyhilly · 08/10/2010 17:21

Has it broked already? I can't get onto it, on safari it tells me that the server has stopped working, google just asks if I meant mumsnet.com

NoahAndTheWhale · 08/10/2010 17:30

Just tried it with iPod touch. The font size is massive - only a couple of messages at once. Also had a random advert part way down the page?

Just realised it is bigger when the iPod is landscape - a bit more there the other way round.

Will consider it for a while

merryberry · 08/10/2010 17:40

The text is so small on add msg it looks likee an ant from the firds floor. Going to press post in a miute and laugh at my typos.

Can anyone tell me...I am on an android phone. Every. /Oh bugger can't rememberwhere I was aafter the 2 year old needed dusting dow. Um, yes android phone, it resizes to too large text between each mn page. Is that me ineptly setting up phone, or m.mn issue?

4andnotout · 08/10/2010 17:48

Ooh I'm on my iPhone and loving it! Text is HUGE though!

nannynick · 08/10/2010 17:55

Large text on Opera Mini. Not sure if Opera Mini is seeing the site as a Mobile site, or if it's trying to display it like a non-mobile site.

I can't see this message thread on the Mobile Version. It is not showing a 'position locked' (or whatever you call it) thread. Just starts from the next moveable thread down.

nannynick · 08/10/2010 17:57

Kindle won't Log In. This is due to the Log In being a Popup. Can the login screen be made such that it is not a popup and also is not a new window... but opens in the same window? Then more devices may support it.

nannynick · 08/10/2010 18:02

Opera Mini users... try going into Settings and tick the Mobile View box. That then drops the font size. Also puts Expand boxes by some items in the Topics list.

nannynick · 08/10/2010 18:06

I can't seem to post from Opera Mini 4 - anyone else finding that? I can type a message, click on post message... and it returns me to m.mumsnet.com/Talk

WillieWaggledagger · 08/10/2010 18:13

can get it on Blackberry and is easy to navigate but the page rendering seems off - all over to the left-hand side with big text so there's only two words per line. Might be something wrong with my settings though

WillieWaggledagger · 08/10/2010 18:15

thank you also!

TheFlabHasGotttaGo · 08/10/2010 18:19

Oooo groovy, man!

catinthehat2 · 08/10/2010 18:27

OK I am back on a PC.

I'm running Froyo on HTC Desire.

Comments:
Very big initial font, easy to decrease though.

My user name is in 97 point font at the top of the page which means my secret identity is plain for all to see from 50 paces until I scroll down - can this be made less prominent do you think?

Emoticons are teeny tiny for little fairies!

Add message box zoom does not match the zoom for the rest of the messages - I'm guessing what to write without me specs.

Can we have a "Go to the top" button on the mobile version? On a long thread which I put on one page, i'm flipping upwards for ages, when on a PC I just do Ctrl-HOme.

Apart from that, thank you for caring. I'm sure I'll come up with some more petty nitpicking valid critiques.

Igglybuff · 08/10/2010 18:44

Glad that finally have a mobile version.

However I think there's scope to fit a bit more in - for example, list of active convos could include number of posts.

Also in the list of active convos, I'd like to be able to click on the topic to take me to all the threads (as you can on the normal site).

foxinsocks · 08/10/2010 18:51

It's great. Thanks. Yes think the number of posts on threads would be good. I like the font size but my eyesight is rubbish!

PuppyMonkey · 08/10/2010 18:58

Hmm I'm not sure about it, though big thanks for the effort. Seems too much scrolling for my liking... Oh sorry I'm so demanding. Looks too bare.

Dylthan · 08/10/2010 19:10

My active conversations have not changed since I first came on. Very frustrating because I looove everything else.

foxinsocks · 08/10/2010 19:18

I think it does need a time stamp as it's useful to know how many posts and time of last post on the active convos list (only if it can be squeezed in)!

Rockbird · 08/10/2010 19:18

I don't mind the font, anything is better than constantly clicking on acronyms or getting started. Active convos hasnt refreshed since I logged in on this though.

DebiTheScot · 08/10/2010 19:23

I'm viewing it on iPhone. Not sure about it. I don't think I like that the font is so big. But then on normal mn it is quite small (but I find if I zoom to make the posts the full width of the screen it's ok)
It views better with the phone upright rather than landscape.
I'd like the box I'm writing in to be a bit bigger I think.
And I agree with whoever it was about it being good to be able to scroll back up while writing without it being huge.

Sorry that was meant to be constructive, not all negative.

DebiTheScot · 08/10/2010 19:26

Oh I do like the bigger buttons. I also hit the getting started button too often.

I get the advert half way down the page too. And thinking about it, are you advertisers going to be happy if half the users aren't seeing the ads?

In active convos why are some blue, some pink & some white?

serengeti · 08/10/2010 19:29

Generally love it but is on same active convos as when I logged on 3 hours ago, and different to on my laptop

DebiTheScot · 08/10/2010 19:31

Something I'd like is a button at the bottom of a thread to get back up to the top without having to scroll back up.

Swipe left for the next trending thread
