Pushchair shed July part 1 - is there such a thing as a perfect pram?

Bexie reminded me it was the first of July!

I am still on the search for a pram that does all I want it to!

Sorry to butt in ladies, I ahve the BJCM got it 2 weeks ago I also think its not that upright, DD only just 8 months so tend to have her back a bit anyway. Only use for the school run and shopping as have a vigour for when walking that DD loves hanging off the bumper bar!

Pebbles out of interest where did you get that liner from, I want something as don't want to get it dirty! Sadly we got the red/cream/black as DH prefered that and it was my only hope of getting one! I do need to get the rain cover and footmuff now though! Any alternative sugestions to the expensive BJ ones appreciated!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 04/07/2009 18:50

evening ladies.

coolkat there are 2 red BJCM footmuffs on ebay at the moment, think they are at about a tenner atm.

I have the XLR at the moment as well and I honestly think you lot must all have a different version to me - the storage is AWFUL - however I will concede it's easy to hang things off the handlebars.

coolkat · 04/07/2009 18:57

I have looked and they must be hidden! Will search again. . . .

pebbles79 · 04/07/2009 18:59

My liner is from Sarah at Chunkle Munkle.

nicolamumof3 · 04/07/2009 19:00

im deffo not getting it(the BJCM)after a volo i think but will wait and see first as to if i actually miss having a second buggy.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 04/07/2009 19:05

Can someone tell me what footmuffs are for? We got one with the XLR when DS was a baby but have never used i, we got a buggysnuggle when he was about 6months old.

Just ebay search baby jogger footmuffs

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/07/2009 19:08

We all went to Tonbridge this afternoon. I wanted to put in an application for swimming lessons as I had gotten all excited about the Sat am classes. However on the journey we realised that doing that every sat would get quite tedious not to mention the extra cost. Ho hum.
But we walked around the castle bit and dp and dds went on the little train. Lovely day.
Oh and I had DD3 in the Infinity and DP had DD2 in the Energy.

pebbles79 · 04/07/2009 19:16

Buggysnuggle is just a brand name, it's still a footmuff.

carrielou2007 · 04/07/2009 19:38

Evening.

Got my silver cross and it is stunning, fab condition, gorgous, I love it. No good though for buggy board and though it just glides along I can't it and hold dd's hand .

Nearly got my hands on a denim bug but price way too high and though I would glady pay a little more to a trusted mnetter it's silly to pay such an increase than they sell for on ebay. So it's back to watching and waiting for one.

Having a slice of cheesecake to get over the trauma of being so close!!

carrielou2007 · 04/07/2009 19:39

push it

nicolamumof3 · 04/07/2009 20:30

flyme i love having all that so close by, we can walk by river, swim in pool have castle to go round and the fabby park all 10mins from my house

i used to walk all the way to st.johns from my house at the top of camden road when tom was about 18m to swimming lessons was a good 45min walk each way loved it!

5inthebed · 04/07/2009 20:50

Coolkat, I bought a 2nd hand baby jogger footmuff off Ebay (they are rare to get) for £25. They are worth the wait though, as they have a fleece that you can zip off inside both on the front and back when it gets cooler.

Also, my DS3 is roughly the same age as yours, and I found he slumps as well if I don't have the crotch bit tightened. Other than that, I love my BJCM

Nicola, I can't beleive you're being so good about prams. The "old" Nicola would have bought a BJCM in every colour just incase there was one she liked

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/07/2009 20:50

Nicola. DD1 and I would get the bus to StJohns and then walk back but at 7.00 at night in winter it was no joke. Then she reached level 7 in swimming and the only weekend time was at 6.30 so we were walking home even later and because there was only one bus an hour we were getting there half an hour early and having to hang about.
I couldn't face taking all three on the bus after school and there was no ducklings class that DD2 could have gone to on at the same time to make it slightly more worthwhile so swimming stopped
Now I am thinking that DD1 could stay at home or play with her friends and I could take DD2 and DD3 on the bus after school now.
I really would like to make the effort but public transport is so crap.

It is really nice to have green space nearby. We have the grove and at this time of year it's just an extension of al the local's backyards.

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/07/2009 20:54

this is near me if anyone is remotely interested

nicolamumof3 · 04/07/2009 21:01

the grove is lovely, i used to work v.close to there.

are there no lessons during the day you could go to while dd1 is at school and dd2 nursery?

i have just worked all our lessons round again as luka starting nursery so can't do his normal time and tate swapping to afternoons. its tricky but is worth it. all my ds have gone from around 6m.

im so worn out may go to bed soon, sick of the relentless kids/housework/coursework/wedding treadmill atm. feel like haven't seen dp all week we still haven't written our wedding vows and its only 2weeks away

5in i know i feel i am become a reformed pramaholic i really do!!! i've got bug frog here that i took collection of for another lady and not even played with it!

JigglyPiggy · 04/07/2009 21:03

flyme - dont tempt me only came over to nick some of carrielou's cheese cake while stamping feet cus i want more bug stuff!

Came so close to doing an emergency ebay listing for everything I own just to have a lovely denim bug.

nicolamumof3 · 04/07/2009 21:06

just had fil to be on phone. god he rubs me up wrong way. seemed surprised that my life is so busy reminded me they arrive next saturday for a bloody week oh the joys!!!!

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/07/2009 21:13

Oh dear Nicola.
Swimming is for DDs1 and 2 so during the day is out. I used to take DD1 when she was a baby but tbh I hate swimming pools and never found she enjoyed it enough to justify the faff of wet clothing sticking to damp bodies and juggling a baby whilst trying to get dressed.
At least when they go to group lessons you can sit and read a book in the comfort of the seating area!
I too am sick of the usual. I told DP I would be having some time to myself tomorrow and he said 'oh yes I will need some headspace myself!'
Fabulous, leaving me to look after DCs and do the housework AS USUAL.

largeginandtonic · 04/07/2009 21:16

Blardy hell i love it and i have just sold a Jane powertwin!!! Typical.

nicolamumof3 · 04/07/2009 21:17

i know its really wearing isn't it? dp works pretty much every w/end i know he has days off in week but that is generally when im on my course or helping at school so v.little time together. i find his parents v.hard work they are v.strange with kids not v.hands on. but they come here expect to be waited on always pitching up at meal times expecting to be fed etc. I feel sorry for Terry as he is not like them but he loves his parents obviously. its hard work to say the least!! i have'nt even had time or money to have a hen night so feel a bit sad bout that too.

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/07/2009 21:20

I'll come over with wine!
[any excuse]

largeginandtonic · 04/07/2009 21:22

Aw Nic that is terrible. Couldnt some friends just come over and share a takeaway? My hen was very low key but fun all the same.

My dh is away for 6 months

largeginandtonic · 04/07/2009 21:22

Me too. We could all bring our pushchirs

Or would that be very sad.

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/07/2009 21:25

lg&t I just read some of your profile to see where you live. 7 dcs! wow.
So what pushchairs have you had?

nicolamumof3 · 04/07/2009 21:29

largeg&t (fab name btw) my dp went away for 10days and that was a long time so my hat goes off to you esp with 7 dcs (feeling v.naughty now grumbling)

i hope to do something but with the bloody inlaws here ALL the time in run up theres hardly time to breathe let alone entertain. i will try and do something. trying to fit in a massage and manicure is hard enough!!
