5inthebed · 01/07/2009 10:08

Bexie reminded me it was the first of July!

I am still on the search for a pram that does all I want it to!

thats nice dunoon but i like FLOC02 too?

carrielou2007 · 01/07/2009 11:48

Bexie, that is a shop near me (well they have two). The one I've been to is about 30 miles from me. I have bought stuff there and the woman is brill if you umm and ahh a bit she knocks a bit off

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/07/2009 11:50

FLOC02 might get grubby?
Right running out of the door to get DD2 from nursery!

sweetkitty · 01/07/2009 11:50

Just checking in

My ideal pram would be

rear and front facing
air tyres
folds quickly and compactly
bumper bar
freedom harness
pink!!!

5inthebed · 01/07/2009 11:53

I' rather have cotton as the fleece one will make your hands sweat and get funny if it rains.

Glad you like First Wheels Nicola. Think I might have sold the Gecko to a cheeky madame!

Now, do I want a Mutsy?

I'll order the summer cover from them then. Was looking to see if there was anything else I wanted from them, lol.

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 12:18

Right I have posted off and on about my buggy woes. I found a second hand Quinny down the road for £50 inc rain cover. Should I buy it for my 3 year old? I can barely afford that tbh I was hoping to pay less.

BexieID · 01/07/2009 12:23

I asked my friend yesterday if she wanted to come round today but she texted this morning to say it's too hot to walk round . It's not that hot, although I haven't been outside yet! Maybe I should have texted back saying i'll come to her, but didn't want to just invite myself, lol. Could have nipped into Greggs on the way .

nicolamumof3 · 01/07/2009 12:27

It is v.hot down here bexie in the 30's i agree it is too hot to go out really, not sure what the temp is up there?

HIDTL, is it a zapp?

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 12:29

I think its a zapp I only recognise one quinny, 3 wheel, pointy shape. Sorry I am woefully ignorant. I'm desperate to replace my pliko it is agony pushing it around and so much worse in this heat.

BexieID · 01/07/2009 12:43

The gauge on desktop says 24 degrees! We are supposed to be having thundery showers later!

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 12:44

I phoned the lady back, it is a Zapp!

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/07/2009 12:46

hereidrawtheline I can't remember your specifications. please remind me.
Pwrsonally Zapps are not for me. Too low and a bit flimsy feeling.
Very hot here and DCs are not going out in the garden. Partly because I just spend my time yelling at them to stop pulling the flowers off, the buds off, throwing sticks at the cat, throwing stones/sticks/plants/watering cans at the spider, pouring water onto each other and their clothes. Whay do I bother? RANT!!!!!!

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 12:49

well DS is 3 and I need something lighter and easier to push him in than the pliko because it is terribly hard going in that. And I am dead broke so have to do it as cheaply as poss. The BCMJ was highly recommended but I cant afford it.

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/07/2009 12:52

Are you tall?
Do you like Maclarens/umbrella fold?
Do you want rear facing option?
Does it need to fold small or go in a car?

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/07/2009 12:52

Oh thanks all for opinions on material. think i will go for the orange flowered cotton.

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 12:55

thank you for your help I am kind of average height I guess around 5'6". I want it easy to fold. The main thing is I want it to be easy to push! It will need to go in the car sometimes, also bus.

(And as an aside sorry for being annoying I posted this here and in products because I wasnt sure which one and I need to decide this afternoon so I am on both threads )

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/07/2009 13:04

I would go for a Maclaren, second hand. if you can find an XT that would be good as they have bigger wheels and so are easier to push.
I have a Jane Energy which are similar and can be cheaper. Check out ebay.
Maclaren Quest is also good and has slightly lower handles for those who prefer that. It has smaller wheels.
New you might stretch to an Obaby, not sure which one Nicola had but she thought it good for the price.

Zapp is known as a marmite pushchair-you love em or hate em.

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 13:10

why do some people hate zapps?

FlyMeToDunoon · 01/07/2009 13:16

They have low handles
They sound quite rattly when wheels on the move.
Sort of rough feeling when pushing. No suspension?
Small fold but can be fiddly with baby/toddler to control.
Non recline seat.

hereidrawtheline · 01/07/2009 13:21

Ah... I see! oh blight.
