maxybrown · 23/06/2009 07:55

Morning, all this bloomin talk about infinity/first wheels has even got me looking at them and slightly interested....and I don't like pushchairs with different size wheels...grrrr!

Now then, is it me Nicola, or does the infinity seat look bigger/roomier than first wheels?

sweetkitty · 23/06/2009 08:12

nicola - buy the red one see if you like it then give it to me lol then get a black. I'm I missed out on the pink

Right better get the monsters ready for nursery looks like it's going to be a nice day here

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/06/2009 08:47

Morning.
Yep looks like a scorcher here today. just as well as my laundry basket is mysteriously full again. Despite washing and getting drt a load or two or even three every day it's been sunny.
DD3's taster at Nursery today-exciting!
DD2's taster afternoon at school next week.

nicolamumof3 · 23/06/2009 09:01

oooh how lovely dunnoon, Luka starts at nursery in September, but no free time for me as he will be mornings and Tate changes to afternoons! so lots of nursery runs basically.

i think i will get red first wheels at 2 weeks old a bargain don't you think? i think i prefer the first wheels it looks 'cleaner' iykwim? i don't know about a seat size tho?? if i love it i will have to sell nipper tho going to take some nice pics of it later when im home from course and stick it on ebay. anyone know how much? was thinking £120 plus post cost me £190 with basket three months ago?

maxybrown · 23/06/2009 09:14

Nic I think if on ebay you should do 150 or best offer on the Nipper, knowing how well you keep your stuff.

sweetkitty · 23/06/2009 09:22

Oh nicola I think you will regret selling your Nipper you love it as well

suwoo · 23/06/2009 09:22

5inthebed, where did you see the new cam colours? Have you got a link please?

horsemadgal · 23/06/2009 09:30

Yes Nicola, keep your Nipper before deciding on the first Wheels. Nipper so much lighter.

5inthebed · 23/06/2009 09:43

Suwoo, it was in a local pram shop. No link I'm afraid.

Get the red Nicola, it's a good offer. Keep the Nipper til you decide.

Lovely day here today. Got to wait in for stupid NPower bloke.

maxybrown · 23/06/2009 09:52

Yeah Nicola, don't sell yet! I used my Nipper yesterday after using Mutsy for few days and wow, I LOVE the Nipper! (not that one was to replace the other anyway) but I have to say the Mutsy really handles bumps effortlessly and think maybe the 4 wheels help that, but oh the Nipper is a dream to push, so so light and comfortable!

suwoo · 23/06/2009 09:54

What colours did they have 5? Can you describe them please

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/06/2009 10:58

Just been to pick another infinity up and screws are missing on the handle

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/06/2009 12:54

Infinity handles seem to suffer problems don't they.
I emailed them about the screw on mine but heard nothing. may phone when I've built up the energy/enthusiasm!
I really think that having a rear facer for older DCs is great. You can hold proper conversations instead of shouting into space or leaning around to the front of a stroller.
Surely it makes sense that children who can talk and understand conversation need that face to face contact too not just babies.
Thinking of how to pimp my Infinity now. Looking out for ideas of material/colours/patterns to match or contrast with Lime. Gonna make a liner myself I reckon.
What is up with Dis? Is it her grandad?

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/06/2009 13:10

Do you know what size screw will fit fmtd? Oh, and apparently, it has been professionly cleaned and used 5 times glad it wasnt the lime one thats in this state. Really disappointed.

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/06/2009 13:27

Oh shame Knickers.
No idea what size screw. My seller said she took hers into a hardware place and they screwed it back together again. On mine it is the small screw above the handle joint. They have used a small screw and two nuts.
Its not very firm which is why I would like to talk to Hauck.
Will you sell it do you think? What colour that one?

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/06/2009 13:32

Its called carrot i think. If i can get it screwed, i dont think id sell. Gunna use it on hols then let inlaws use it when they have dd. Unless i see a different pushchair

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/06/2009 13:37

Ok just phoned Icoo who gave me the number for the factory it's
0870 840 6727.
Spoke to a very nice woman. They don't have the screw I need and are having difficulty sourcing them. Try phoning again in a few weeks she said.
Thay have bumper bars for £10 delivered. So I am going to get one next month I think.

Knickers0nMaHead · 23/06/2009 13:46

i know its probably a stupid question but what is the difference between the jeep and icoo? Bumper bars are reasonably priced then!

Disenchanted3 · 23/06/2009 14:38

At my Aunts on her PC, first wheels came, tis lovely but decided to keep bee, i think its just the better of the 2

hopefully be on tomorrow, computer knackered.

lecohen · 23/06/2009 14:42

hi all,

My SIL had the firstwheels so can make some comparisons...have decided that if firstwheels is suitable with buggyboard it would be the better of the 2

There are some nicer things with the infinity though if anyone wants a breakdown i'd be happy to say ...hope that helps x

nicolamumof3 · 23/06/2009 14:44

yes please lecohen im interested in comparison between two thanks!

just back from my course, not a minutes rest as dp gone to work and luka due up from nap.

lecohen · 23/06/2009 16:01

ok...

Infinity

  • Nicer quality fabric (and removeable)
  • Like the rubberised bottom part of seat (easy clean for dirty shoes)
  • Bit fiddly to put seat on, requires co-ordinated approach lol
  • Folds with seat on in forward facing (but bulky)
  • Basket is smaller than FW
  • Like the wheels (nice quality)
  • Good with buggyboard (although took me AGES to figure out best position because footbreak got in the way)
  • Feels very sturdy
  • Like the recline mechanism (brake lever)
  • Multi recline position very nice

Firstwheels

  • Very similar chassis but not sure if will accomodate fixing points for buggy board
  • Good size basket
  • Can be used with Maxi Cosi (with adaptors)Big plus point
  • Easy to use (attaching seat unit very simple)
  • The carrycot is a good size and collapses flat when finished with. Nice quality too.
  • seat unit (and maxi cosi) feels a little rocky on the chassis (not a fault though, seen this on others)
  • Think it is slightly longer but not a problem really
  • Has a bar across the front which is quite useful to hang toys on and maybe a bagabottle

For me, the main benefits to the firstwheels is ability to use maxi cosi and easier to remove and fit seat unit. Looks wise, they are on par really, I slightly favour infinity I think. If the firstwheels is ok with buggyboard, it wins my vote but still like the infinity a lot. If I didn't have Bug Frog, would have kept as wa svery nice to use. Both Infinity and FW handle well.

SparklyGothKat · 23/06/2009 16:22

5in was it you after bugaboo bag clips? There is some on the for sale thread £12

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/06/2009 17:55

No idea whats the difference between Jeep and i coo.
I find that the seat on my Infinity moves slightly. Could be because its old though. The movement in the handle bothers me. Again might be age of my ones chassis.
