i know you all like your bugaboo's and quinnys...etc, but i don't have no idea, so here is my wish list....

-3 wheels, preferably not a fixed front wheel
-needs to be a travel system with car seat
-preferably girly

so, i quite like the Graco excursion

here

but is there any similar? (for about the same price?)

britax trekker on kiddicare atm for about £100, comes with car seat etc, also the footmuff to match is on sale for a fiver!!

mustrunmore · 23/05/2007 19:51

Graco excursions have a fixed front wheel ,and they're a right PITA. Sorry! Dont get one. I had one for about 2 months, then gave it to my SIL becuse I hated it so much. And the var seat wouldnt fit in alot of cars; too big for the belts to go round.

Why do you want a 3 wheeler, out of interest?
If you give us a few ideas of your lifestyle, it'd be easier to choose a buggy for you

misdee · 23/05/2007 19:52

why does it have to be a travel system?

LIZS · 23/05/2007 19:52

That's got a fixed wheel and, er imho,in RL looks its price. Hauck are similar price and quality but a better bet might be an Mothercare Urban Detour. Personally not a fan of travel systems as they tend to be cumbersome and have a limited lifespan, choose pushchair/pram to suit your lifestyle and budget plus a good safe car seat to fit your car and if they happen to be compatible , fine .

Marne · 23/05/2007 19:57

Get a urben detour, the graco excrsion is rubish, i had one for my first, a total pain to push and very small.

j20baby · 23/05/2007 19:59

3 wheels, travel system? don't know really

i quite like the air tyre things, i just don't know!!!

ok, i have a big boot, space not really a problem, not too bothered about a carrycot, definately want a car seat, with fixed base to leave in car..........ideas?

j20baby · 23/05/2007 20:02

oh and GIRLY

i've looked at the one on kiddicare.com, it looks ok, but not too keen on the colour.

Graco also do a 3 wheel travel system with a swivel wheel:

Graco Trekko

I dont have it so cant rate it for you - sorry!!

NomDePlume · 23/05/2007 20:04

i wouldn't have a Graco. Naff and cheapo.

The wheels are weirdly small on those 3 wheelers too. Looks very odd.

umma · 23/05/2007 20:05

I reccomend the Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette, I love mine.

mustrunmore · 23/05/2007 20:05

Just get a phil and teds then! Then you can just buy the duobles seat when you need it They have big air wheels. The Graco wheels arent air filled BTW, they're horrible plastic.

j20baby · 23/05/2007 20:09

i really like the phil and teds, but isn't if for 2 children?

OP posts:
hana · 23/05/2007 20:12

no, you buy a doubles kit for the phil and teds, it can be a single or a double

j20baby · 23/05/2007 20:15

aren't they quite expensive though?

or, if i've got my heart set on a travel system, should i buy second hand, and get a nice girly pram when she's a bit older?

OP posts:
LIZS · 23/05/2007 20:22

Don't buy the car seat 2nd hand . Why so set on a travel system ? Frankly it is a gimmick and you wontl sue it nearly as much as you think !

misdee · 23/05/2007 20:23

girly 3 wheels with car seat/travelsystem

then get a wagtail buzz, or a new strawberrry one and buy a maxi cosi car seat if it fits in your car.

misdee · 23/05/2007 20:23

you do know babies shouldnt be in car seats for long periods of time dont you?

hana · 23/05/2007 20:29

whenever I see a baby being pushed along in a travel system, they always look so squashed up and uncomfortable.
far better for them to be flat
and so what it they wake up during transfer from carseat to pram

j20baby · 23/05/2007 20:30

yep, its only for when i'm in the car and need to move her when she's asleep, to stop all the faffing around with the seat belts.

will google the wagtail and strawberry thingy

Misdee, I did think of you the other day (because of much you'd hate this, not that you are like it BTW!).... girl of about 16 maximum walking along smoking a fag, pushing a travel sysytem with several bottles of very old manky looking milk in the basket,on the phone using some very interesting language. And in the baby carseat attached to the buggy was a boy of certainly no less than 2 , looking very squashed, very pissed off with life.
But, hey, who am I to judge other people?

j20baby · 23/05/2007 20:35

i'm not too keen on the quinny's, i think i will have to go and have a look in a couple of shops. plenty of time

OP posts:
misdee · 23/05/2007 20:35

oh i hate that mustrunmore you know me so well.

i saw a little tot of under 3 months in a mothewrcare jive. poor thing was all curled up in the bottom of the seat.

marmitemad · 23/05/2007 20:46

I have a red Britax Vigour 4 which takes a Cosy Tot Premium car seat directly onto the chassis (so very light and easy to get out of car also easier to open/fold than the Bugaboo). I also have the carry cot and use this for walks/shopping longer than 1 hour. Haven't used the main seat unit yet as DD is only 3 months but looking forward to it. Most large Mothercare stores have the Vigour as a 3 wheeler in black only, I bought mine from kiddicare as I got more choice. HTH
