It's rather spectacular! .

I'll load up a few pics of the inside in a mo, as I know a few people want to have a nose.

It's from this company who make tonnes of amazing bespoke playhouses .

A special thanks to prufrock, who made us aware of this company.

This is our kettle.

£75 for a kettle?

Why would you pay that for a kettle?

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/05/2007 14:43

I'll have you know it's a very nice kettle .

(Actually DH chose the kettle, and I just supported his decision ).

Blardy ell
That is one nice kettle
what else does it do apart from boil water?
and which bespoke company is it from?

hatwoman · 20/05/2007 14:51

it's lovely (house not kettle) but I'll stick my head over the parapet and say I agree with jezebel. imho.

hatwoman · 20/05/2007 14:52

yep. for £79 I'd expect the kettle to bring me my tea in bed.

jezebeltheharlot · 20/05/2007 15:06

Blardy ridiculous.

£75 for a kettle! Why would anyone in their right mind pay that?

IT BOILS WATER! AND I BET IT ISNT ANY QUICKER THAN MINE!

Nemo2007 · 20/05/2007 15:09

Sigh CSWS you never answered as to when all the little fishes can come on their jollies..pmsl

As for £75 for a kettle then fair enough if they have hte money and arent going into debt over it then thats their choice. Now for us the £6.60 one would probably throw us out of budget

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/05/2007 15:17

Well I expect we own lots of things that lots of people wouldn't be prepared (or able) to spend the same amount on, but life would be very dull if we all owned the exact same of everything.

I tell you what, let's only have Kia cars because they are cheap, let's all shop at Netto because it's cheap, and let's all buy our clothes from Primark and do away with all these nonsense designers who host fashion shows.

You saying that no-one should spend that much on a kettle (or a playhouse) is really just as absurd and in the same vein as these suggestionss.

Oh Nemo they can come any time!

Oh fgs it is relative to your circumstances and is not vulgar at all.A kettle for £6 won't last long but it will make a cup of tea It is all a matter of how important aesthetics are to you I suppose.I am a sucker for good design and hate plastic tat so would rather wait and buy something decent than buy something cheap.Horses for courses

misdee · 20/05/2007 15:24

dd1 just asked if she can go and play in your playhouse lol.

franca70 · 20/05/2007 15:28

As a child I'd have loved this . Actually even as an adult.
I'm a bit uncomfortable to give children OTT things, especially when they haven't express a desire to have them. However, I might spend 70 quid on a kettle...

DevilsAdvocado · 20/05/2007 15:29

Yeah, relative to circumstances, I agree.

But I also think that csws is being a tad vulgar in linking to her huge toyhouse, house and expensive kettle... A little similar to someone saying "don't ask how much it cost" when they actually want the world to know how loaded they are

Can't help but admire the house [and the kettle] though

Nemo2007 · 20/05/2007 15:30

Do you know CSWS has been on my ttc threads after mc and she has never once indicated that they had a decent amount of money etc and that to me is why this is fine. I think if someone was overly obnoxious about money they have or rub it in the faces of people who have none then thats when it is an issue.

hatwoman · 20/05/2007 15:30

in fairness the reasons jezebel gave with regard to the playhouse, and with which I personally agree (whilst recognising others don;t), were not as absurd as your other examples. it wasn't a case of saying "let's buy tatty plastic version because it's cheap" they were a little more thoughtful than that.

hatwoman · 20/05/2007 15:32

{shock} at teh £3.5 k for the cottage. the other one must really be value for money!

BreeVanDerCamp · 20/05/2007 15:34

Bree whips out Mont Blanc pen and adds Playhouses to the list of things likely to cause a ruck on MN.

noddyholder · 20/05/2007 15:36

Does anyone really care what other people have though? Our next door neighbours have a quite spectacular tree house in their garden meanwhile ds has an upturned toybox with a sheet of mdf propped against it which he skateboards up and down and is as happy as larry.I don't think he has even noticed their fortress tbh

franca70 · 20/05/2007 15:38

thre's more!
wonder how much is the bed...

misdee · 20/05/2007 15:39

there is a rather fab treehouse on the edge of rickmansworth as you drive past the tesco shops and up the hill, past bear the cemetery on the way to harefield hospital. i get soooo mainly because we dont have any trees in our garden lol.

noddyholder · 20/05/2007 15:39

bodentastic

Nemo2007 · 20/05/2007 15:40

I remember my stepdad making a playhouse for my sisters that had a draw string bridge!! He also made a see saw and swing set. All very cheap but worked a treat.
