OP posts:
sunnywong · 01/02/2007 11:07

will you be putting the same, evidently dangerous, arse on it?

southeastastra · 01/02/2007 11:11

my sons can't aim and the wee rots the connections.

Dont buy from wickes either - I sat on the one in the showroom, with the lid down and went straight through it. How embarrassing.

me too - since christmas !!!!!! bought a decent one 45 quid much better

TinCan · 01/02/2007 11:35

We've gone through 2 from Homebase so I wouldn't recommend them either. Have one on order with Bathstore now....hoping for no more embarrasing falls off the loo.

fannyannie · 01/02/2007 11:46

we've been through 2 from Homebase and 2 from BnQ in the last few years - got an Argos one now.......

southeastastra · 01/02/2007 11:48

haha swift!

what is the connection like naotter? i think the problem is the metal. I do clean them too!

my 5 year old son is good at aiming it's the 13 year old that can't be bothered! grr

OP posts:
tenbygirl · 01/02/2007 15:46

I've had this problem, hubby says the metal fixing thing at the back is too short or thin or something. Everynow and then when I'm sitting on it there is a clunk and it slips to one side. Its honestly not my big bum

Now have a Next one and its fine.

southeastastra · 01/02/2007 16:19

i'll have to tell everyone to keep still on it, we'll see how long this one lasts. it's only been 2 months though grrr. i've written a letter to them but imagine it'll be ignored

laneydaye · 01/02/2007 16:20

Here here...what a pile of s**t if you pardon the pun...

ValnBen · 01/02/2007 16:27

Erm, just in case you don?t know, Argos and Homebase are the same people!!
The two companies merged/ were taken over by another company about 18 months ? 2 years ago.
The stuff in the Argos catalogue is the same as the stuff in the Homebase store.

southeastastra · 30/08/2007 14:53

another one bites the dust, seriously i have spent tons on loo seats this last year

OP posts:
totaleclipse · 30/08/2007 14:55

Ahhhh, so thats why my loo seat slips to one side.

southeastastra · 30/08/2007 15:02

this one lasted 6 months. where can i get one that won't keep breaking? argh

OP posts:
Quootiepie · 30/08/2007 15:03

... or Homebase - it was expensive by loo seat standards and the metal hinges have broken. Maybe we all have fat arses?

serenity · 30/08/2007 15:07

WE used to break them on a regular basis, but the one we've got at the moment seems to be going Ok - it's been on there two years. It was a £10 IKEA one. It's also good because the lid doesn't go all the way back (stands upright) so the DCs aren't constantly smacking the cistern with it.

southeastastra · 30/08/2007 15:07

yes it's the metal hinges that have gone (again!) surely modern day loo seats should be able accommodate all shapes and sizes of bum

OP posts:
Quootiepie · 30/08/2007 15:08

funny because 2 of my mums loo seats slide off sometimes, so does my MILs - all white plastic type ones. One may be ceramic, can't remember. Please tell us where you get decent loo seats!

Blandmum · 30/08/2007 15:11

Has your arse been safety tested????

We need to know!

southeastastra · 30/08/2007 15:12

ikea is a long way to go for a loo seat, but may be worth it in the long run

OP posts:
southeastastra · 30/08/2007 15:13

mb

OP posts:
roisin · 30/08/2007 15:25

Oh I'm glad it's not just us. We go through loo seats at a ridiculous rate too

I have no idea why.

Blandmum · 30/08/2007 15:27

you want to get one of these!
