I was in Baby Gap today and saw a great bargain - a large canvas baby change bag, three different pattens to choose from,( plain, pretty and stripe) complete with changing mat, down from £48.00 to £6.99. I don't know anyone - in the real world at least - who has just given birth, or would need a baby changing bag, but I thought it was such a good bargaian, I'd tell you about it here. These bags were in the Bluewater branch of Baby Gap, but are probably availablr elsewhere.

Here's a suggestion, news of any other bargains we see could be posted here as and when.

Focus are selling all craft items at 50% off including Jali fretwork cut pelmets and radiator covers, cross stitch sets, paints and spray paints for just about everything job you can think of, wool, sewing sets and Airfix models, Blo Pens etc etc etc!! R

jessi · 02/05/2002 16:24

Superdrug are doing Nivea suncreams at half price. The spray on ones are excellent.

elwar · 20/05/2002 14:48

Just got dd a jacket & t shirt from Kids Gap in York - 3.99 each (jacket was 24.50!) They were dropping all the sale stuff to 3.99 to get rid for the new season. I never usually buy stuff from there full price, and had only popped in there to look for something else. Their sales are probably regional, so keep an eye on your local for when they have a clearout.

I just learned today that Poundland ( I think they are a nationwide chain) sell pregnancy testing kits - yes for £1! Admittedly they are very flimsy looking - and if you got a positive you'd no doubt want to check it with something more expensive - but for those of us trying to conceive who are desperate to test the minute our periods are even slightly late - £1 a go seems like too good to miss!!

manna · 20/05/2002 21:22

boots are doing buy on get one free on ambre solaire suncreams. They have factors 40 & 60 for kids in the range. Quite a saving, s they are usually over a tenner each.

Ok, The Red House book club has some great offers this month....with an extra 10% off if you access through Mumsnet....see the link on home-page

KMG · 21/05/2002 18:17

Yeah, this month's Red House is TOO good! Often it just goes straight in the bin. But read through it today, and ended up with an order of £60+ - which I can't afford. AND we're moving, and are supposed to be de-cluttering, and not buying anything new!

Rhiannon · 21/05/2002 18:26

justgoodbooks.co.uk, have great offers but you do have to buy one more book off them in the next six months and after that you can cancel your membership.

Postage is £1 or free if you order more than 3 books. R

MandyD · 23/05/2002 11:52

Boots have buy one get one free on all their own brand baby toiletries (500ml size only) and you can mix eg. one baby bath plus one baby lotion! Also BOGOF on Pampers Sensitive wipes and Radox bubble bath.

Rhiannon · 28/05/2002 16:56

Mothercare have a sale on, they have Bob The B. and Barbie undies reduced right down and their normal underwear too. They also have 25% off some items but I didn't find anything for DD. R

Good buggies going cheap on www.kiddicare.com - including Mclaren

clary · 29/05/2002 14:04

Even better than that Boots BOGOF on Ambre Solaire; my dh got some 60 factor Ambre Solaire from Asda at less than a fiver! Makes the Boots offer at £14 for two look a bit of a rip-off, in fact!!

bayleaf · 05/06/2002 12:08

Books for £1!!! For those of you who have a branch of the County book store near you - they have just changed their approach so that now instead of being generally cheap - ALL books are £1 - I have just spent £30 on 30 books - and apparently it's a permanent change!

bea · 06/06/2002 15:24

when you sepend £20, you get £10 off at

www.emagazineshop.com

magazine subscriptions! i just ordered Organic Gardening magazine for dh for father's day from dd! £15.50 for a years subscription... normally £25.50!

Bargain!

Mopsy · 06/06/2002 16:52

When you spend £40 on childrenswear in M&S you get 20% off (for the duration of half-term).

Rhiannon · 06/06/2002 19:30

bayleaf, went to County books at Thurrock today, no sign of the £1 books there but some rather nice videos for £2.99. DD got Star Hill Ponies as she's a pony fanatic (thankfully only blue plastic ones with pink nylon hair at the moment though). R

bayleaf · 06/06/2002 19:36

Rhiannon - that's wierd - I did ask at the till whether it was all of them - and if it was just a one day special or similar. I'm off to Nottingham tomorrow ( it was the Leics branch I initially visited ) I'll see what the situation is there.

jodee · 08/06/2002 15:16

On Amazon if you type in the code BYPK-A4H7-E3P5 in the gift certificate box, you can get 3 pounds off when you spend 15 pounds (including the p&p they add on) (sorry, my pound sign refuses to work on this keyboard!) Apparently this can be used multiple times and expires 31 July.

Lilia · 09/06/2002 21:32

if you need a sleeping bag, they are (2 tog ones)30% off (£17.50 + postage) on www.growbag.com .

GillW · 10/06/2002 10:58

To get a grobag even cheaper go to ukfrenzy to get a £5 off £15 (or £10 off £20) voucher for John Lewis and order a one from there @ £17.50 (cheaper anyway than the £17.95 even in the sale from grobag.com).

Cheaper own-brand versions of the grobags (about £10) are available at Asda and at H&M (who also have some lighter summer weight ones).

GillW · 10/06/2002 13:12

Boots currently have an offer on their own brand Baby Food - either the organic or the international ones - buy 5 and get 100 extra advantage points (worth £1). They also currently have in store leaflets with vouchers for £5 off if you spent £20, and the two offers are valid together.

On Saturday I bought 30 jars of 7-month food - priced at 65/67p each adds up to just over £20 but with £5 discount and £6.80 worth of points that works out at just under 28p a jar.

For the 4 month jars you could get 40 jars effectively for £8.12 (i.e. just over 20p each).

Just off out to stock up on some more before you all beat me to it now I've told you!!

Bozza · 13/06/2002 22:09

Jodee thanks for the Amazon tip which worked for me today.
