I was in Baby Gap today and saw a great bargain - a large canvas baby change bag, three different pattens to choose from,( plain, pretty and stripe) complete with changing mat, down from £48.00 to £6.99. I don't know anyone - in the real world at least - who has just given birth, or would need a baby changing bag, but I thought it was such a good bargaian, I'd tell you about it here. These bags were in the Bluewater branch of Baby Gap, but are probably availablr elsewhere.

Here's a suggestion, news of any other bargains we see could be posted here as and when.

Sorry, that was 'I saw', not I say

FrancesJ · 10/07/2002 22:03

I ended up making one (baby sleeping bag, that is). Because it was summer, I bought some cheap quilted lightweight fabric (only needed about a yard), or you could use jersey, then made a sort of bag thing, took a pattern from a baby top, and cobbled the two together (fastening it by poppers over the shoulders). If you sew at all, it's by far the cheapest option, and it didn't take much time to make. If you know someone with a baby sleeping bag then you could borrow it and trace round it to make a pattern if you want one of the zip front ones. It all depends if you hate sewing or not! I think the whole thing cost me about four pounds, though.

Lilia - where is Snuggle - does it have a website?

GillW · 12/07/2002 14:29

Ellaroo, I think the site you're looking for is snugger

bluebear · 12/07/2002 20:08

Manna - are you sure about the grobag price - I've just got two new ones via the website and I thought they were about £18 each not £25

Harrysmum · 15/07/2002 12:35

Boden have just reduced things further (this is the only way I buy Boden things despite liking them v much). The web site is v slow at the moment but good prices. It's probably as well I'm pregnant and can't buy all that I would like!

Not sure if anyone will be interested - but if you like baking you might be. In our local branch of Tesco, if you ask at their bakery, then they are giving each customer up to 2oz of fresh yeast. Am assuming this must be a company-wide policy. Totally free, and I think the little sign they'd put up is new (if this is something everyone has known about for ages but dim me, then I apologise). But lovely squidgy fresh yeast, and something for nothing from a Supermarket!

PamT · 27/07/2002 15:58

I have heard that Asda also give away fresh yeast from the bakery counter because they don't sell it in the store. Morrison's sell it so no doubt they won't give it away.

Not posted before, but thought I'd share this with you... Original Source, you know the ones that do shower gels and stuff, are giving the stuff away!
www.originalsource.co.uk/index3.asp?sample_id=4
Just register and give them a few details about yourself, then they send you a sample, about enough for three showers, email you a week or so later to get your feedback, then they send you another sample! There are 8 in all. And it's all free!!!
Just to say hello - I have 2 children - dd is 3 and a half and ds is 20 months. I live in Surrey and work part time. Have 'lurked' for a couple of weeks and thought it was time to join in!

Mopsy · 05/08/2002 15:20

Hi titchy

well done for getting past the lurking stage (remember it well) and welcome!
thanks for the tip.

Homebase are doing 10% off all paints at the mo.

Legoland tickets are reduced through the Argos site until 20th August (then you have until end 2002 to go to Legoland).
You save 6.95 per child in peak times, 5.95 other times, and save on adult and senior prices too.
Pick up the Argos sale leaflet for info, or you can just book by dialling their hotline on 0845 120 4350, selecting option 4 to talk to an operator. You need to leave enough time (5-7 days) for tickets to arrive. Sounds like a good offer to me.
