Theres a long story behind me wanting this chair. I work hard and have been saving the money for a while and now that it comes to the crunch I'm feeling guilty at the thought of how many nappies/clothes and toys I could buy the dc with that money!

My childhood was bleak and there was no money for any luxuries (food was considered a luxury even)which perhaps makes me want this even more it would be a constant reminder of how far we have come!

I've always dreamt of having something that would be an heirloom for me to hand down and I had my heart set on this. The chair really is not to everyones taste so thought it best not to post a link to it here

just don't hanker for a red rug to go with it

soapbox · 23/02/2006 15:22

Post a picture - go on!

WeepingRicotta · 23/02/2006 15:22

It's a big flumpy marshmallow leather recliner with pockets for everything you could feasibly need for a night's viewing (although for £2k, you could probably stock it up and live in it for a fortnight, right?!).

Go on, post a link.

Hulababy · 23/02/2006 15:23

Need a picture really to know if it is worth the £2000. Is is a classic design that will still look okay in a few years time? Will it last? Is it something you will still like?

zippitippitoes · 23/02/2006 15:23

i got into art college by baffling them with my earnest waffling on the politicts of the chair to distract them from my portfolio

farTooAshamedToAdmitMyName · 23/02/2006 15:23

Don't think I could find one anyway. It's leather and hand made though.

I'm afraid you have to admit who you are and show us a pic, before i permit anyone else to post on this thread

WeepingRicotta · 23/02/2006 15:24

Even if I just post to agree with you, H05?

Hattie05 · 23/02/2006 15:25

LOL well ok then.

farTooAshamedToAdmitMyName · 23/02/2006 15:25

HulaBaby I think it's a design classic, it's a question of taste like everything.

mythumbelinas · 23/02/2006 15:25

is it one of those full body massage ones .. i want one!!

spacedonkey · 23/02/2006 15:26

I think you should buy it. You've saved up for it, it's something you've set your heart on - why do you want to be denied it now?

suzywong · 23/02/2006 15:26

is it like the Eames chair?

Flossam · 23/02/2006 15:26

who are you weepig ricotta?

Hattie05 · 23/02/2006 15:26

Surely thats not design classic! mythumbelina

zippitippitoes · 23/02/2006 15:26

have to say what sort of chair it is then to give you just cause for getting it

farTooAshamedToAdmitMyName · 23/02/2006 15:27

No it's very boring , it doesn't have any whistles or bells. I've wanted it for about 6 years I think.

OP posts:
WeepingRicotta · 23/02/2006 15:27

Where's it from?

spacedonkey · 23/02/2006 15:28

6 years. So it's not a whim. Buy it!

nailpolish · 23/02/2006 15:28

6 years?! you should certainly get it imo

Hulababy · 23/02/2006 15:28

Colour? Style? Designer?

Some clues please!

suzywong · 23/02/2006 15:28

would you be nicer to your husband and children if you possessed it or would you spend your time warning them to keep away from mum's expensive chair?

zippitippitoes · 23/02/2006 15:28

can't be much good if they haven't sold it in all that time
