I have spent many years being celibate and so done with it now so now it’s time to get back out there, only where do people find causal sex as a woman? I know online seems like the obvious answer but I don’t want to advertise it or for people to recognise me on there? (I think maybe not a pic then only showing on when moved to WhatsApp?) also is it safe meeting men online for sex? Another thing is I will only have school hours free due to being a lone parent so quite restrictive but I guess it’s better than nothing.

You’d be better off with a friends with benefits situation. Safer and easier. Do you have an old flame you know who is single?
You may be better off stating you’re looking for FWB on any online platform as then you can meet first, have a few dates then start hooking up. This means less risk of encounters with dodgy blokes.

There is no woman on earth who would have trouble being able to get casual sex. But you do need to be careful because there are a lot of a-holes about. Be very fussy. The best thing would be for it to be someone you trust. I went through a phase of this when I was younger - it got me into more than a few scrapes. Luckily perimenopause has stopped those feelings - it’s a relief.

Why the snide answers? I'm not single but if I were, I wouldn't know where to start. Once you're no longer in your 20s or early 30s, finding an attractive single man in RL isn't that easy. If it were me I would just join a dating site go on dates with men and sleep with the ones I found attractive. It's not 'advertising yourself' anymore than the men on there are 'advertising thenselves'. The other option I suppose is haunting your local pub in the hopes of getting lucky.

It was after a particularly difficult time in my own life and, like you, I was a lone parent with very limited availability. It could have been unsafe. It wasn't, thank goodness, but it was pretty crap sex and not really worth it. I felt guilty and seedy when I realised later that he had probably lied about being separated. If I was going to do it again I would just date on a normal site but be upfront that I wanted it to be casual.
