To go to a sex club with DH?

Name changed but long time mnetter.

Me and DH have long talked about opening up our marriage. We've now got the kids away at the in-laws for a few nights and considering going to a swingers club tomorrow night. We've discussed hard rules etc beforehand and tbh with it being the first time we might just be boring and have a few drinks and come home but wondering if anyone's got any experiences or tips?

OP posts:

You should post this in the sex topic.

There are frequently threads on there about this very subject with posters asking the same question as you.

And there is a lot of expertise among the regular posters in the sex topic.

Sex clubs are a lot of fun, as long as your relationship is rock solid. I would post in the sex topic though, I'm reluctant to post much about my experiences in AIBU as I will get judged...

You're happy or turned on by watching your husband having sex with other women?
Most people don't want someone they love having sex with others but if you're ok with that, then go for it.

It seems as though you're kindred spirits as neither of you are sexually jealous. It's unlikely feelings will develop with strangers so my advice is to ensure condoms are used and bear in mind that STDs can be spread orally or with skin contact.

No that’s voyeurism. OP won’t be sitting watching. She’ll be having sex too with someone else. It’s swinging not dogging.

So they're not in the same area but split up throughout the night? Is that the protocol?

HappyAnnGloria · 28/05/2025 03:42

LYNN, THESE ARE SEX PEOPLE!

I think people just find people they want to have sex with. There is no protocol.

They can go and just have sex with each other if they want, or have sex with no one.

That's what I thought. I find it strange you wouldn't spend any time near your partner. Some people are really turned on by watching their partner with other people.

Be prepared for the club to get raided, the one in Sheffield did several times, there were pictures in the local paper of members being thrown out by the police. What happens if either of you fall for someone you are having sex with or if either of you realises later that you can't cope with the idea of the other having sex with someone else? It could spell the end of your marriage, are you prepared for that?

It's a very common sexual fantasy and kink.

Lol at expertise. The sex topic is full of mainly men who seem to post for wank fodder. My bet is none of them are having much sex at all, never mind them being experts. 😂🤣😂🤣 Experts in wanking maybe.

Well they certainly have more knowledge about the etiquette of swingers/ sex clubs and open relationships/ kink/ fetishes etc etc than I, and possibly a lot of MN users, have.

And considering the sex topic allows a freedom to talk about these things in quite graphic detail that isn't appropriate in other topic sections of MN you've got to wonder why OP didn't chose to post in the section specifically designed to cater for her interests .

I don’t believe for a second that their ‘knowledge’ is gained from real experience. I mean, have you read some of it? It’s laughable. Only other men looking for wank fodder would believe it, because they want to.

People, cough, men, post on here because they get off on placing themselves in the middle of a predominantly women’s space and talking about this, and don’t forget, you need to have had an account for a week to post on the sex board so that would be another reason for posting outside of it. Be careful when answering these sorts of threads would be my advice.

This topic prevents users from posting on it until they have been members for at least 7 days.
