To the regular posters on the Sex topic threads

I don't post much on forums, bit of a lurker. (lurker?? - probably could have found a better word to use on a sex thread!!)

Quite surprised to learn that you are all apparently one-handed typists/teenage boys/sleazy 40+ pervs/men pretending to be women, and now also paedophiles. But in almost all that I've read on here over the past few months, I've found you regulars to be very polite, respectful and decent in the way you post.

Not sure if my opinion means much on MN generally, i'm not the typical poster, what with me being a woman who likes sex, doesn't much like children, doesn't hate men and doesn't blame every man for things that one bad person has done to her in the past. Just wanted to say please don't go, don't abandon ship. (Did Jude really go? She talked a lot of sense. I hope she comes back soon)

Hope MNHQ see sense soon and take it off Active so it can go back to how it was before.

There's been a couple of further deletions this afternoon on the sex topic moderation thread in Site Stuff (worth keeping track of if you've not seen it yet). More unpleasantness presumably.

It's funny, some of them so desperate to moderate the site yet can't post within TGs themselves.

If you do that, you're doing exactly what the haters on here want. Respectful, rule-abiding men have every right to be heard in these threads. Report any offensiveness you may encounter and let MNHQ deal with those who can't keep a civil tongue in their heads.

In the Site Stuff sex board moderation thread at present they're trying to get answers about why a thread elsewhere (ie not sex board) on MN hasn't been deleted (they say it contains description of CSA). It's an important subject and as I don't know which thread is being talked about I haven't got much to say and hope they get a clear answer.

Earlier when the discussion was about the sex board generally and policy on Site Stuff (so HQ is at least part of the discussion) I think it's important that everyone, especially sex board regulars have some input.

@Sparkybloke please dont allow yourself to be exiled. Other male posters have already gone and I miss their opinions and banter. 💖

@Surplus2requirements I'm not asking for deletion, I'm asking about proactive moderation and for safeguarding of the OP, amongst other things. I'm sure we can all agree that a robust policy on material relating to CSA benefits everyone. Anyone is welcome to read my posts for themselves and form an opinion.

I have also advocated for users of the Sex board to be involved in any new moderation policies going forward.

It's was just a couple of goady posts about me, I just ignored them. I think what they're asking now is potentially important so I didn't want it derailed by anyone looking for someone to attack for fun.

I don't know if anyone else reported or mods were watching but they disappeared pretty quickly.

Yes thanks @MeganTheeScallion I might have worded that badly. It's the fact it hasn't been deleted or moderated that raises the question.

Bit sad the chat thread has gone. I only found out it existed not long ago and was considering plucking up the courage to join in!

Thank you @everywhichway I considered deleting my account sll together having been made to feel entirely unwelcome by the posts from one or two but i reconsidered as it would, as you say, be giving in. At some point i think we can all hope that mnhq revisit the guidance and hopefully mske it clear that abuse and misogynistic comments won't be tolerated but equally recognise that we are adults on here...personally id like to see the 90 day delay for sex topic posting reintroduced and the whole thread moved off active so anyone who wants to view posts must be actively looking, as was the case until recently. It is since the recent change that things went down hill. Just my take..head back below the parapet now...k

I'm pretty sure you've been here for a while.

In my view it's always been the case that any man who posts here is labelled a pervert by anyone except sex topic regulars. If you look any any mention of the sex topic that's really very clear.

It's true that there are some perves around. There's a thread going at the moment about a man who (in my view at least) sent a completely inappropriate DM. So they're not entirely wrong.

There is a large minority on Mumsnet who don't want men posting on it at all.

My suggestion is that you a) just ignore the remarks b) stick to the point when you post and c) don't get involved in controversies involving men.
