I don't post much on forums, bit of a lurker. (lurker?? - probably could have found a better word to use on a sex thread!!)

Quite surprised to learn that you are all apparently one-handed typists/teenage boys/sleazy 40+ pervs/men pretending to be women, and now also paedophiles. But in almost all that I've read on here over the past few months, I've found you regulars to be very polite, respectful and decent in the way you post.

Not sure if my opinion means much on MN generally, i'm not the typical poster, what with me being a woman who likes sex, doesn't much like children, doesn't hate men and doesn't blame every man for things that one bad person has done to her in the past. Just wanted to say please don't go, don't abandon ship. (Did Jude really go? She talked a lot of sense. I hope she comes back soon)

Hope MNHQ see sense soon and take it off Active so it can go back to how it was before.

I have that magpie song in my head now.

male (so far a lurker on this bit as I maybe feel I'm not qualified/would be imposing) but just to say that I have always found this bit of the forum very human/humane/non judgemental.
Which is quite something in this day and age of social media storms.
Have the idea that this is the case even though moderation seems to have a very light touch.
Which surely says something (nice) about the folks in this bit.

Mermaidparades · 01/05/2023 17:12

@innocentfun Are you over 18? If so welcome to the gang, how could you possibly be imposing? If you’ve had a sexual thought then you are perfectly qualified to join in 💗

:)
yep - over 18 (when was definitely innocent) - suppose I meant that as I was/am male I shouldn't post.
Maybe will post in future as a delicate male :)

And I repeat that I find this area refreshingly non dogmatic - little that I have seen along the lines of "dump him/her" where you often have the idea that posters are just exorcising/exercising their own demons and care not a lot for the poster they are supposedly replying to/advising/helping.

anyways, thanks for your comment, maybe off to the 69 thread.

AnneKipankitoo · 01/05/2023 18:24

It was until recently @innocentfun . Then for some reason it appeared in active and let’s just say all hell broke loose.
I had not posted on this part before but always found it educational, interesting, and non judgemental.
I do think that the mums of Mumsnet should appreciate the knowledge that us on this section of the forum because if you have children just now… it is a completely different situation as to when they were growing up.

AnneKipankitoo · 01/05/2023 18:24

Is not us

Catullus5 · 01/05/2023 18:31

I'm my experience Mumsnet is generally friendlier off the big boards: AIBU, Chat and Relationships.

The nonsense really comes from those boards.

Nottelling15 · 04/05/2023 17:41

Well I've been here a while now and everyone on the sex board has been welcoming and friendly
As someone else has said the drama and haters frequent the main boards more

I tend so steer clear of them

Surplus2requirements · 04/05/2023 18:07

Chat is usually okish. Aibu has always been a bear pit but I do think there's been an increase in unpleasant attitudes/deliberate misunderstanding and faux non-comprehension of slightly iffy grammar.

More posters are starting to call it out though so hopefully it'll decline.

There's certainly less humour than there used to be but I've seen that on other fora as well...maybe covid/lockdowns related?
