I don't post much on forums, bit of a lurker. (lurker?? - probably could have found a better word to use on a sex thread!!)

Quite surprised to learn that you are all apparently one-handed typists/teenage boys/sleazy 40+ pervs/men pretending to be women, and now also paedophiles. But in almost all that I've read on here over the past few months, I've found you regulars to be very polite, respectful and decent in the way you post.

Not sure if my opinion means much on MN generally, i'm not the typical poster, what with me being a woman who likes sex, doesn't much like children, doesn't hate men and doesn't blame every man for things that one bad person has done to her in the past. Just wanted to say please don't go, don't abandon ship. (Did Jude really go? She talked a lot of sense. I hope she comes back soon)

Hope MNHQ see sense soon and take it off Active so it can go back to how it was before.

So just so I'm clear as I've been dipping in and out the last few days (sorry still tried to keep my end up in defense of the sex threads), has there been some devious doings from unknown parties posting outrageous posts that are intended to smear and defame the thread?

Or AIBU and outrageous (self development efforts would be paying off!!)? 😝

Yes, there have been one or two bogus threads appearing in the sex topic. But so outrageously transparent you wonder why the posters bothered!

Certainly some weird (not in a good way) stuff going on, it's a shame because everyone starts to try and 2nd guess everything.

There has been moments of amusement though.
My favourite being the attempted rabble rousing in Site Stuff about being 'inundated' with sexual DMs that was instantly called out by HQ
"You had ONE 5 months ago...we banned them"

Meanwhile lots of genuine complaints about unsolicited spam DMs advertising a new women's forum

So when one uses a sex swing with both a glass of Prosecco and a plate of cake on the go how does one avoid falling off? 😊

I hope the new rules mean faster deletions for sex chat derailing and more equity for bi/ENM chat which some self-styles thread police have been attacking for months.

I think they made it quite clear its 'their' site and we're invading it.
It's not an inclusive place.
Anyone who has sexual preferences and tastes not considered "normal" by them is a pervert.
Their argument was made up of 99% bollocks and only about 1% truth.
I asked them a lot of questions on those site stuff threads. Most of which went ignored which tells me an awful lot! Mainly, there was no evidence for their claims!!!

One thing to bear in mind is that some consider that regulars on the sex board are incapable of reporting unsuitable posts or unpleasant behaviour for post moderation...I guess because we're depraved by default.

The suggestion to tackle that is unpaid moderators specifically for the sex board similar to the Night Watch

HQ has agreed to consider it.

It's not necessarily a bad idea but it could be horrendous if the wrong people were chosen considering some of the recent discussions and attitudes.

We should certainly be aware of possible rogue threads designed to be inflammatory without being too paranoid imo.

Exactly. Some consider. Not mumsnet. Some 'other users' of the site have decided their opinion is fact. It's not backed by any data.

Users of the sex board did not report the sex chat thread because we were told it was allowed...

So why the fuck would anyone report it when mumsnet said it was ok?!

Cos they have nothing better to do than poke their noses into other people's business

It's almost like heaven forbid people have desires and by somehow discussing them like you would eg discussing plants or gardening activities is somehow besmirching the mumsnet name.
