I don't post much on forums, bit of a lurker. (lurker?? - probably could have found a better word to use on a sex thread!!)

Quite surprised to learn that you are all apparently one-handed typists/teenage boys/sleazy 40+ pervs/men pretending to be women, and now also paedophiles. But in almost all that I've read on here over the past few months, I've found you regulars to be very polite, respectful and decent in the way you post.

Not sure if my opinion means much on MN generally, i'm not the typical poster, what with me being a woman who likes sex, doesn't much like children, doesn't hate men and doesn't blame every man for things that one bad person has done to her in the past. Just wanted to say please don't go, don't abandon ship. (Did Jude really go? She talked a lot of sense. I hope she comes back soon)

Hope MNHQ see sense soon and take it off Active so it can go back to how it was before.

I dont really know, HQ said they'd discuss it but have also said they think reporting from regulars here to be consistant with the rest of the site.

Then again if you were chosen as a mod it wouldn't change the feel of the board apart from perhaps an overabundance of sparkly bits

It seems the only acceptable answers are we only do the deed to reproduce and heaven forbid anyone offers advice for enjoying the leisure side of love making.

I guess a suitable seat with safety ropes

@HornyBee yes it is only some but it's a some that have successfully battered at HQs door and shut down conversation to get what they want.

I do think HQ has more sense...fingers crossed

One thing to bear in mind is that some consider that regulars on the sex board are incapable of reporting unsuitable posts or unpleasant behaviour for post moderation..

It's also completely patronising! Like we're some sub human species that need to be kept a close eye on like a bunch of kids. We can't be trusted. It's a horrible way to be treated. Any why? Because we like sex and like talking about it. On a forum designed for it.

That's the thing back in the day different pleasure threads appeared in the relationship board and then they got the sex board, now when people do actually use it, there's still some people thinking OMG think of the name of the site, how dare they sully it with all their sex talk etc, even though part of becoming a parent is actually going at it like rabbits etc

@Hawkins003 yes it’s kinda funny, I have been perceived as a bad girl by some yet I absolutely melt when I’m called a ‘good girl’ hehe

It is a real shame all, but hey ho...

I’ve been a member of MN for years, over the years it seems to have become a pretty unpleasant place at times and that’s across many of the boards namely Relationships and AIBU, rather than a balanced constructive disagreement, some of the posts transcend into name calling, sarcasm and passive-aggressive comments. I am yet to see any bullying or name calling coming from a male poster, granted it’s not always easy to identify someone’s sex based on their username.

@NCSexForum In relation to this topic I completely agree. The discussion I was involved in this week descended into chaos and I ended up saying some hurtful things too in retaliation. I’m definitely not proud of that. It was a definite learning curve for me and has reinforced the rule to not say anything online that I wouldn’t say in person!

Not just this topic, many posts get derailed, the poster is mocked and bullied and it’s unpleasant, especially when there’s a pile on.

@Mermaidparades there's been some truly awful things said over the last week and it's very difficult not to react from a place of hurt but you should be proud that you didn't allow your opinion to be shut down in which hasn't been just a conversation with other members but a conversation with NMHQ about policy.

It seems widespread across the Internet, #bekind gain traction briefly but is now more often used in derision.

And yes there were some pretty awful comments on here and comments made elsewhere about posters on this site, I’m surprised more comments weren’t deleted as MN allowed online bullying.

I think mods generally act on reports, I don't often report because I think it's better to let comments stand so others can make their own judgements about what people are like.

Taking quotes out of context from other threads is different because it leaves a false impression and is intended to do so.

On a specific post about this topic, there are posters calling users of this page twats and perverts, they have not been removed.

In my experience whether a nasty comment gets deleted really just depends on the subject.

I think we need to report any of these and not just assume someone will see and delete. I reported a post by someone calling people perves and being generally unpleasant and they have been deleted today.

Sadly it seems any man who posts here is likely to be labelled a pervert or a misogynist now. Sad but I suspect few men will post on the mn sex thread now for fear of the vitriol from a small minority. I will certainly think long and slow before responding to anything now.
