Has anyone else applied for Brit ks4 for 2026?

Sadly, my daughter didn't get in . She was very sad and disappointed when we recieved the email.
She's such a wonderful singer . It came as a big shock to us even to her singing teacher and people that knows what she carries when it comes to singing . As a mother I'm here feeling so bad because this was her dreams to get into brit school.

We want to appeal for her. Please can enyone help with some advice on how to go about the form . Thank you

So sorry your dd didn’t get in. Mine neither. She is gutted, and there were lots of tears over the weekend.

Her audition went objectively really well and I don’t think she could have done any better so we are not appealing. We would like the feedback and you don’t get that if you appeal - and I feel like that will be more useful to her for when she reapplies for post 16. The only thing is that I felt in the interview that a couple of times they jumped on the first thing she said, and didn’t really seem to listen to what she said after that for her answer. For example, they asked her whether she wanted to be a performer - which she confirmed as she does love performing, but she went on to say that she is also an all rounder and wants to learn the craft through theory, industry and production. They didn’t really listen to her saying that and skipped on to the next question. She’s not a singer but plays 5 instruments and produces, and I’m not sure the audition process really allowed her to shine as someone who has quite a diverse set of skills. Anyway, just an observation really and my perception may not be correct - but you tend to get quite forensic when something at this level happens.

Anyway, I’m proud of her for not letting it get to her and she’s attending Band Camp at another music college this Easter which has lifted her a bit. I was worried the rejection might set her back - but glad it’s spurred her on a bit more. One of the reasons she wanted to go to the Brit was because she was finding it hard to find people as passionate about music as her at her school and even though the music dept is excellent, she wasn’t quite finding the right opportunities open to her. Hopefully moving into the GCSE year will hopefully help.

You are right about the interview. First thing I told my dd after we left was that she wasn't giving time to elaborate more before they jumped to another question.

Well, upon being sad and tearful all Friday night, she was able to pick up herself and perform so well the next day in her end of term show at her performing arts school. With that I am super proud of her. I told her when a door closed a better door will open she should not give up.

I must say your dd is very talented and gifted! Well done to her. I wish her all the best.

I wrote them yesterday about that and they replied that they don’t use the offer status and all is ok.

Does anyone know when information about induction days and other key details will be emailed out?

I’m guessing not yet as dance won’t hear until 20-23 April. I’m only guessing they do it all together?

I think when my daughter started a couple of years ago it was May sometime they did options etc? Though of course may be different this year. On the main Brit calendar though the yr 10 induction day is Friday 26th June if that helps?

They have told me we will hear friday after school. Does your applica say phase 2 appeal on it? I've just looked today and that is now there?

I rang a few weeks ago to confirm was just dance i then said 20-23rd is Monday to thursday she said oh yes it will be the Friday as we like them home from school. At the bottom of my applica it is showing additional phases phase 2 appeal

Anyone got their results for Brits 2026 dance strand key stage 4 today. The waiting is so in tense omg . Email says decision 20 -23 April. Good luck everyone

My daughter’s updated to that for post 16 in the week before results - she got a spot on the reserve list

There’s a link on the first page of the booklet to the form - I did the same and missed it at first x

Anyone else struggling with the KS4 options form it’s because the form wants each subject selected as a 1st/2nd/3rd preference.. even the one they can’t actually do!! For example my DD is doing VAD but the form wants a pretence for GCSE art and design which of course she can’t do. I’ve emailed the school to let them know.

Hope those still waiting for Dance find out very soon!
