Teacher muttered "fuck off" to yr7 pupil

So my son age 12 had a supply teacher today for one of his classes. Ds went to the loo and when he got back noticed his rucksack was open and someone had nicked his water bottle.

Realising it was his mate on the row behind, he was trying to get it back, supply teacher noticed him talking and was warned if he saw ds talking again he would get a detention

End of class ds approached teacher and asked if he had a detention (he's very worried about this as not had one yet) - teacher waved his hand and muttered "just fuck off "

What do I do if anything? Maybe his patience was tested but seems very bizarre.

Amazed at everyone who says 'don't work with children then'. This is why we have a retention crisis in education - teachers are leaving and no one is replacing them!

Teachers are humans, he made a mistake. Tell your DS to be grateful for not getting a detention and move on.

This was probably one of those teachers who complain about the abuse they got from children every day.

So in other words a teacher is more likely to be driven to making an unprofessional, irritated comment to a student if they have cause to complain that they are constantly putting up with abuse from students every day? Well, yes, I would have thought so. I am not defending the teacher swearing, but much of the physical and psychological abuse which teachers (and indeed other students) suffer from kids in schools makes a muttered 'Fuck off' pale into relative insignificance.

If they are a supply, just let it slide. Your son might not even see them again.
If that is an internal cover supervisor, keep an eye on it and report if it happens again.

Why?

Much cheaper and there is the shortage of supply teachers.
