Is anyone waiting to hear tomorrow?

Just wanted to say it's a horrendous but you're nearly there! And it'll work out all right in the end even if you don't get the school you were hoping for. Good Luck!

I think it's the end of March here.

Scramble · 03/03/2008 01:18

I think I hear at the end of march too, still wondering if I have made the right choice.

seeker · 03/03/2008 06:00

Here in Kent, people hear today if they registered online and in the post tomorrow if they didn't - I thought it was the same all over the country. No worried Kent parents on here, then?

heronsfly · 03/03/2008 06:53

Yes, one worried Kent parent here

Jockey · 03/03/2008 09:18

Hertfordshire is the same as Kent - online today, post tomorrow.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed! Good luck everybody.

SorenLorensen · 03/03/2008 09:21

I should hear today online (after 3.30).

seeker · 03/03/2008 09:34

Last year you could look at the allocations online the evening before - but we discovered that we hadn't registered properly so we had to wait til the next day, and our post doesn't come til 11.30! It was awful - I really feel for you all.

QueenMeabhOfConnaught · 03/03/2008 11:24

I think I can't see the online result until tomorrow - same day as the post. I have a horrible feeling that I messed up the order of schools and I'm too scared to look at the printout I did at the time!!!!!

OrmIrian · 03/03/2008 11:25

Oh is it today? I was wondering.

dizzydo · 03/03/2008 11:45

yes its today for good old London too. I must have looked in my email box one hundred times already even though I am pretty sure that the online result wont come out until tomorrow.

Queenmeabh dont worry I bet you filled it out properly, you're just being paranoid like the rest of us.

Good luck everyone

OrmIrian · 03/03/2008 11:49

Just tried to check on-line. Refused to accept my e-mail address and password. In a panic I rang the contact number to be told there were 'IT problems'. Great timing eh?

seeker · 03/03/2008 11:53

The whole system in Kent crashed last year!

OP posts:
shabster · 03/03/2008 11:53

Worried in Bolton, Lancashire here!! Think we should hear today or tomorrow. We didn't have the internet last year so have applied in writing.

Please god not borstal our local high school. Please let all those long sunday mornings going to church with my DS count! The school we all want award loads of points for regular church goers so.....have had to hide my devils horns in the attic and toe the line

OrmIrian · 03/03/2008 11:55

Thing is I'm soooo lax I didn't even know it was today until this thread. And I wasn't worried until I couldn't log on - had this horrible sneaking feeling that perhaps I hadn't applied and it was all in my imagination

OrmIrian · 03/03/2008 11:56

Now I actually feel sick

marina · 03/03/2008 11:58

Good luck to you all, hope you get the places you want
Big day at the dc's school as we straddle outer London and NW Kent, fingers crossed for all sorts of little chums

shabster · 03/03/2008 11:59

Think I feel sick too!!! My eldest DS (now aged 26) went to the school we are trying to get DS4 in. Then it was an ability based school but now its a 'who goes to church the most' based school.

If he has been turned down we can appeal based on the fact that we now have regular church attendance - but that is going to take at least another two weeks to sort out!

OMG who would have kids

PestoMonster · 03/03/2008 12:00

They don't do on-line here.

gotta wait until the letter arrives in the post tomorrow... Grrrr!! Thought it was s'posed to be hear today and I shall be out tomorrow at the opticians...

PestoMonster · 03/03/2008 12:01

oops, meant here

swedishmum · 03/03/2008 12:21

Another worried Kent parent here but it's my 3rd time in 4 years so I'm an old hand! Poor old ds won't pass his 11 plus simply because he's very dyslexic and 11 plus really doesn't show off his skills - particularly the verbal reasoning. His 2 older sisters flew through which makes it worse for him. Alternatives round here are dire - because he manages to achieve OK results in Literacy he wouldn't get special help at sec school, even the one with the dyslexia unit.
Actually I'm so angry about the whole unfair situation I'm not even stressed!

swedishmum · 03/03/2008 12:22

Email after 4 apparently....

RosaIsRed · 03/03/2008 12:24

I had an email first thing this morning to say DD1 has a place at our local comprehensive. It wasn't an issue for us in any case as we live 100 yards from the school gate. Whether we would have CHOSEN the school if there was a better option, is of course, another matter.
Good luck to all those still waiting, I hope you have good news soon.

MaureenMLove · 03/03/2008 12:30

Oh good luck everyone! This was me, this time last year. Its a horrible, horrible wait and I don't any of you! What ever will be, will be and once they are in their new school and having a ball, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about!

swedishmum · 03/03/2008 12:31

It's great to know Rosa. Hope your dd's happy.
We're at least 8 miles from any sec school - makes it hard as we're low down on the distance priority list. Who'd live in rural Kent?

RosaIsRed · 03/03/2008 12:39

Thanks, Swedishmum. I hope she is too. The school is not that brilliant, but all the children from her primary school go there and make up about 20% of the intake so she will have lots of friends around her which makes a big difference to settling in. It is not a bad school either, by any means, just underperforming and with discipline issues, but lots of children do well there and she will have plenty of support from us.
