Been awake for two hours, might as well just get up' good luck folks!

doubleshotcappuccino · 24/08/2023 04:58

Not the best nights sleep ! Good luck everyone - hoping my twins sleep in a bit I can't bear the thought of having them both pacing .. and me trying to pretend I'm not nervous

naughty40me · 24/08/2023 05:05

And I'm awake already.....

Very exciting all these kids getting called in early. They must have done well!

Think our invite got lost 🤔 😂

I just want DS to get into college with no issues.

And I hope he enjoys it when he's there, he's unsure what he wants to do as a career so has just chosen 3 subjects of interest for now.

May aswell get up and put kettle on....

DaisyWaldron · 24/08/2023 05:21

DD is fairly calm, and realistically there's nothing to worry about - the grades she needs to do her planned A-levels are much lower than her predicted grades. And she's having a bit of a wobble about potentially failing English, but I think that's just nerves. She's worked much harder for the real exam than her mocks, as both sets of mocks at school were immediately after coursework deadlines and she prioritised the actual grades over the mock ones.

NoKnickerElastic · 24/08/2023 06:12

Awake way too early here with my DD fast asleep next to me, she couldn't sleep last night so got in with me. Hoping she's done enough to get her A level choices after a rocky road the last few years. Should be OK but just want to know now.

mumonthehill · 24/08/2023 06:31

Well here we are, going luck all!!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 24/08/2023 06:34

I feel a bit sick...

Moneyordream · 24/08/2023 06:36

My DS is snoring soundly, I have been awake ages. He wants to do maths and needs a 7, fingers crossed he gets it as worked very hard, he is academic but his GF isn't so he spent every moment he could revising with her to help make sure she could get into 6th. They have truly worked so hard and would like to see it rewarded

SilverGlitterBaubles · 24/08/2023 06:40

DD fast asleep I am up thinking of every possible scenario if things don't go according to plan. Fingers crossed for all these kids they have not had an easy time.

DaisyWaldron · 24/08/2023 06:41

DD has to do her paper round before she can collect her results, so although results are available from 8am, she probably won't get hers until after 9, and I'll be at work by then.

Letskeepgoing · 24/08/2023 06:45

Good luck everyone!! 👍
I'm not sure I want to know grade boundries until after dc gets results so I'll see you all later!
Much love to all X

Rowgtfc72 · 24/08/2023 06:49

Morning!
Good luck to everyone's kids this morning.
I've told dd whatever grades she gets she's worked bloody hard and I'm proud of her.
(Just need 3s!)
She's requested I make eggybread for breakfast and walk the dog to school with her where she's meeting her other sidekick. It'll be nice to wish him good luck too.
She's opening the results at school but said she won't tell us till she gets home.
Nerves are ramping up here!

joan12 · 24/08/2023 06:58

Good luck to all your amazing children 🤞 So moved by all the different journeys people have been on to get here.

VioletVeeVee · 24/08/2023 07:11

DS journey has been fraught with MH difficulties and bullying.

He missed so much school and had such a negative experience. We were proud that he managed to walk in there to sit his core GCSEs.

Whether he passes or fails he still has a college place but I wouldn’t be human if I wasn’t nervous for him. He knows the possibility of resits is very high.

Good luck everyone 🤞

VioletVeeVee · 24/08/2023 07:12

We should be getting the results emailed. Hopefully we’ll get them sooner rather than later.

ColouringPencils · 24/08/2023 07:15

Good luck to everyone today!

lemonyellows · 24/08/2023 07:24

DS hasn't surfaced yet. I'm not sure when he is planning on going but can go 8-10. Teenagers! I would be up already and there for 8 😂

Daren't put the tv news on, as I don't want him hearing any negative gcse headlines beforehand.

bellinisurge · 24/08/2023 07:25

Just heard noises from mine. Good luck everyone

AnxiousElephant77 · 24/08/2023 07:25

Good luck all. 35 minutes to go here...

Dd awake since 4.30am.

Doobydoo · 24/08/2023 07:28

Morning all...I think ds2 is asleep.I could hear him moving around and clearing his throat at 3am so think he must be nervous. We will get results emailed as he sat exams as an external candidate as home edded. I start work at 10am so hope he gets results before then. Good luck all.

Sausagesandpeas · 24/08/2023 07:31

An hour left here.
Good luck to everyone.

Pollyanna8844 · 24/08/2023 07:33

Our school aren't releasing results till 10 and you have go in to collect them! DS can't go in so I'm getting them for him - eek

Neversaygoodbye · 24/08/2023 07:41

Good luck everyone. We've got a long wait until DS is allowed in to collect his at 10:15 - I'm cross with the school making them wait so late.
Article in the Guardian this morning has really got me worried as DS was getting 4/5's in maths mocks, he will be completely despondent if required to do resists.

bendmeoverbackwards · 24/08/2023 07:43

Good luck everyone, hope everyone’s dc get what they need.

Im taking dd to school soon to collect her results. I’m dreading my anxious wait in the car.

Rowgtfc72 · 24/08/2023 07:43

I've just had to turn bbc breakfast off. I can't watch it. Dd is up and straightening her hair! She's coming down at 8 to see what the grade boundaries are.
