These are the voyages of the GCSE Enterprise. To support our DCs, bemoan exam boards and to boldly go through the last fortnight like no one has gone before!

Keep going everyone the finish line is in sight!! 2 left here, maths tomorrow and History on Friday. The heat is not helping!!

kidstaxidriver · 13/06/2023 17:40

Eldest DS just back from a pretty gruelling Maths A level - I feel I need to lie down. These kids are under too much pressure

Isn’t it History on Thursday?
I thought Physics (and Geography paper 3) on Friday.

CalmConfident · 13/06/2023 17:52

Further maths on 21st is the last one for DS, envious of friends that finish on Friday after physics

lorn195 · 13/06/2023 17:54

GivingItAWhirl · 13/06/2023 17:24

Maths tomorrow, history Thursday and finishing with physics on Friday!

Same here !

meuroticjishmum · 13/06/2023 17:55

Can anyone recommend any last minute revision good resources for Kenilworth for History OCR paper 3 - it's DSs weakest history topic. He's pretty good in Maths ( tomorrow)so am planning ahead for History .....

GivingItAWhirl · 13/06/2023 17:56

Good luck to you both @lorn195!!! Enjoy the weekend when it comes!

CalmConfident · 13/06/2023 17:58

edexcel Chem here - thought it was good, but then started comparing answers with friends and started doubting himself !

mumonthehill · 13/06/2023 17:59

@PicnicBunny WJEC here so History crime and punishment for is Friday afternoon!

Quinkle · 13/06/2023 18:01

Tomorrow is Maths and then Music - anyone else? Fingers crossed the tech works for music, there always seems to be a problem.

That's us too. Music is being considered as an ALevel choice so I'm hoping for a good paper.

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 13/06/2023 18:23

DS has Maths (Edexcel) tomorrow, History Edexcel Weimar) on Thursday and then on Friday he finishes his exams with Physics (Edexcel triple) and Geography (Edexcel A).

minisnowballs · 13/06/2023 18:31

Maths and music here tomorrow too... fortunately not an A-Level choice and her only paper with any tech in it (because she doesn't do a modern language).

Circleoffifths · 13/06/2023 18:34

Maths and music here too tomorrow and Music is an A-level choice. It’s the only subject she is hoping for a 9 in and I know she will be gutted if it does not go well.

ImitationOfLife · 13/06/2023 19:23

Maths and Music for us too. Music an A level choice and uni choice, and he got full marks for coursework, so he feels the pressure on this one. Fingers crossed for kind questions and working tech!

Felixinthefactory · 13/06/2023 19:28

Maths and Music here too. And Physics on Friday. None being considered for A Level, so hoping after Maths it will all be a bit less stressful. For me at least!

blueshoes · 13/06/2023 19:40

Just one more paper iGCSE Edexcel Physics to go on Friday. Let the count down begin.

Nowfeeltheneedtopost · 13/06/2023 19:44

Still 4 to go here. Maths tomorrow, Physics and Geography on Friday and Further Maths next Weds. Almost all of her friends are finished by Friday so she's struggling to envisage doing much revision for further maths. Plan seems to be some work sat and sunday morning before socialising in afternoon/evening, trip to Thorpe Park with friends on Monday and then lots of exam questions/past papers on Tuesday! Which sounds OK to me.

NCTDN · 13/06/2023 19:48

Ds said aqa triple science chemistry was good apart from the last two questions but most of his friends thought it was all hard.
He thinks he's fine really well in English yesterday but if everyone has thought the same I guess the grade boundaries will be raised...
He still has 4 exams left and doesn't finish till next wed.

iwantavuvezela · 13/06/2023 20:10

DD was feeling quite okay about chemistry (AQA triple) also commented on last question - about not really having gone over the material or a long time ago, and one question that was awkwardly asked - but overall was feeling good about it (which is good as an A level choice so fingers crossed she gets the grade needed ). She was relived about Spanish (edexcel but had done no revising so was just relieved she could write some things down - much lower expectations here!!)
Tomorrow is Maths - which she really really wants to do well in and Music which she has done very little for!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 13/06/2023 21:59

Ds said aqa triple science chemistry was good apart from the last two questions but most of his friends thought it was all hard.

DD said the same as your DS, last question was a bit crap and she didn't know what to put for it. Her teacher doesn't think it was even on the syllabus.

Spanish she apparently actually 'really enjoyed' Confused So at least all A level choices are finished and have gone OK.

DD's theory is that all the sciences have one good paper and one bad paper (so Friday's Physics will presumably be shit).

Starlightstarbright1 · 13/06/2023 22:15

My Ds had chemistry today - seemed happy enough..
maths tomorrow .

them try Thursday to get him to revise for physics and Geography Friday .

then food tech Tuesday

spiderlight · 13/06/2023 22:27

Poor DS is utterly miserable with hay fever tonight :( He's had as much antihistamine as he can take but he's still streaming. I hope he sleeps before maths tomorrow morning. It's not been a good day at all here! 😣

I don't know what I'd do without these threads, you know? Thank you so much, all of you!

Daydreamscometrue · 13/06/2023 22:28

@kidstaxidriver which exam board for A level maths?

PicnicBunny · 13/06/2023 22:28
