These are the voyages of the GCSE Enterprise. To support our DCs, bemoan exam boards and to boldly go through the last fortnight like no one has gone before!

Both A level choices tomorrow😮

MoFoFlo · 13/06/2023 22:58

Maths tomorrow, physics and geography on Friday, then dance on 20th. Finish line is in sight!

They’re having their leaver’s assembly tomorrow afternoon and giving out year books and hoodies. DD’s been to get presents and cards for a couple of favourite teachers. Her school doesn’t have a sixth form so they’re all moving on. She’s feeling a bit sad about it as all her close friends are going a different college - the one she’s chosen is a much better fit for her and she had a strong preference for it after open and taster days, but it’s hard when you’re 16.

I don't know what I'd do without these threads, you know? Thank you so much, all of you!

Flowers I think we'll all regroup for results and then the horrors adventure of 6th form. I find it fascinating to read how all the kids are reacting differently to the exams. DD has been far more philosophical than I expected but that could all change in August.....

spiderlight · 13/06/2023 23:30

We definitely need a night-before-the-results hand holding thread!!

I'm really worried about maths. DS isn't as worried as I'd expected but he might just be too knackered and hay fevery to care. He's just gone to bed with a wad of tissue up each nostril.

Good luck to all! Anyone up revising? Time for a ☕️

My DD has just got up - quick shower and then she will revise. I am willing them to be over - 5.30 starts for me every day are not good.

Wow I admire the dedication.
My son has not got up early once to revise.

Letskeepgoing · 14/06/2023 05:55

My son admitted, he wasn't in a good head space yesterday for chemistry. He said for some reason it wasn't going in properly, he forgot he could have had a rest break too. Such a shame it happened on one of his A level choice subjects. I guess with 21 exams there would bound to be one you're having a bad day for. Plus hes suffering with hayfever.

Circleoffifths · 14/06/2023 06:04

DD still asleep but I have been up for ages fretting. Feel more nervous for today than any of the other days as it’s an important subject for her this afternoon and it is going to be so hot. A bus driver near us fainted yesterday because of the heat and the bus crashed through a wall. Luckily nobody was hurt.

AbbyGal · 14/06/2023 06:33

DS was up silly-o'clock but not revising just hot and full of hay fever (it's been a nightmare this year hasn't it?

He seems ok - wants to do Maths A'level so ok about it, but I'm shattered already!!

Good luck to all - nearly there....

kidstaxidriver · 14/06/2023 06:38

@Daydreamscometrue A level maths was edexcel 😬😬
good luck to all those with maths today
no exams here today but grappling to find where DS2 might have even put his Geog coursework 😂

HippyChickMama · 14/06/2023 06:39

Just higher maths here today, ds is feeling okay about it. It's not an A level choice and he opted out of further maths, he's hoping for a 6, needs a 4 to eventually do a PGCE

TeenDivided · 14/06/2023 06:43

Foundation tier maths today for DD.
Please let this be the last maths exam she ever has to sit.
This is the first time she has sat it properly but being in y13 it has dragged on for years.

Best wishes to all especially those on the 3/4 boundary.

AgathaSpencerGregson · 14/06/2023 06:46

Music this afternoon and DSs last one. Hoping for a good one as he must currently be hovering at an 8 or 9 based on his performances and composition but the written paper is far weaker for him usually

Hellocatshome · 14/06/2023 06:59

Good luck to everyone doing maths today and hopefully they all get what they need/want wether that be a 4 or a 9 or somewhere in between.

Letskeepgoing · 14/06/2023 07:06

It's a scorcher already isn't it!!

Dosing son up with hayfever tablet, nasal spray eye drops!

Dinofantastic · 14/06/2023 07:07

Good luck all in Maths etc, and especially to @TeenDivided's DD.

Changes17 · 14/06/2023 07:21

Fingers crossed for all doing maths today, especially those in need of a particular grade.

3sthemagicnumber · 14/06/2023 07:23

Good luck today, everyone. Thinking of those for whom Maths is a tough one.

Lots of sympathy to the hayfever sufferers too - nothing like as hot as much of the rest of the country here but the pollen count is crazy.

They've cobbled together a last-minute Leaver's Assembly here - today is DD's official last day at school.

Changes17 · 14/06/2023 07:25

DS needs an 8 to do further maths A level and didn’t sleep well.

lorn195 · 14/06/2023 07:26

Last official day at school for DS2 🥲. Can't believe that that time has gone so quick!

4 GCSEs to go and then it's all over. Though proud of him passing BTEC Sport.

Nowfeeltheneedtopost · 14/06/2023 07:48

Good luck to everyone today and especially to @TeenDivided ’s DD.

HebeJeeby · 14/06/2023 07:50

Good luck to everyone and echo a PP, I hope everyone gets the grade they need to take them to the next stage of their life 🤞🤞

PicnicBunny · 14/06/2023 07:55

Good luck to everyone, on this thread and beyond
