When is the next maths exam? Are there 2 more?

Ds has two more but one numeracy and one's additional -the bbc link suggests 7 and 14 has more maths exams for many boards

He gone in calm this morning - we really want this to be his last day in though he seemed keen to be in tomorrow as school seem determined to pick a fight.

DD1 has two today - A-levels - as well and seemed very calm as well.

Arrgghh panic today! Got all the way to school and dd realised she left her calculator at home. No time for me to go home and get it. Phoned school and they reassured me she can borrow a spare. But I’m still worrying as she’s autistic and a different calculator might throw her off track. Her’s is a Casio, I’m hoping they are all quite similar.

mumonthehill · 25/05/2023 09:07

Took ds in today and one girl in his year was already leaving school!! He said she had done this most mornings. Good luck all. Cannot believe tomorrow will be the last day in secondary school before study leave. The end or an era for us.

Hersetta427 · 25/05/2023 09:12

DD weakest science is probably physics although strangely it was the one she got the best mark in for the mocks . I fear this one has fallen by the wayside a little with all the prep for other exams this week. She'll still do fine but not the 9 she got for mocks.

England. Wed 7th & Wed 14 June. Both calculator exams.

Brilliant. Thank you. Not us (DC did GCSEs last year) but have friends retaking and wanted to send their mums (private) good lucks.

Dinofantastic · 25/05/2023 09:21

@TripleDaisySummer thank you 😊

BonjourCrisette · 25/05/2023 09:25

DD went off to Physics this morning looking a bit grim. I think she's very nervous.

Best of luck to everyone today!

ReformedWaywardTeen · 25/05/2023 09:31

DD is unbothered on physics so went in chuffed that they're half term starts at around 10.30am

Although, thank goodness they did important (to them) ones yesterday. I was vacuuming a light fitting yesterday afternoon, and how's this for freak accident, a bit of dust fell on her and went in her eye.
Managed to get it out (not easy with ND) but eye is red this morning still but not too sore.

Teach me a lesson for spring cleaning!

minisnowballs · 25/05/2023 09:44

@kennythekangaroo thinking of you and your daughter. What an amazing pair you are to keep this show on the road during such an incredibly difficult time.

Here we had reasonable happiness with English Literature last night and much love for Seamus Heaney - she wants to do English Lit A-Level so I'm glad she wasn't too fazed. Grim determination for physics this morning. She genuinely hates it...

Titsywoo · 25/05/2023 09:46

Ds feeling confident today as physics and computer science are 2 of his best subjects. Tomorrow noone has exams so they are doing a leavers assembly and shirt signing and finishing early for half term. No more lessons now and only about 9 exams after half term.

naughty40me · 25/05/2023 10:07

Physics and Comp Sci today then tomorrow its lessons finished off with a Leavers Assembly.

School asked all parents to write a letter to their DC to be given as a surprise during the assembly.

I've wrote how proud I am of him...how much I love him...

But then signed off with "please get your bloody hair cut!!"

Hope it makes him smile

Fifiellz · 25/05/2023 10:21

Well DD seems happy with Physics which is a surprise as she usually hates it.

She's doing foundation but said it was a lot easier than the mock paper. Really need a 55 in Sciences so hope she's doing as well as she thinks.

Clymene · 25/05/2023 10:52

Physics not too bad apparently

Jowak1 · 25/05/2023 10:56

My son doing the higher paper and wants to do Physics at A level said he ran out of time and didn't answer a few of the last questions! Worrying now for him as he loves Physics 😞

HappiDaze · 25/05/2023 10:56

DD says triple physics Edexcel was horrible

DD says triple physics Edexcel was horrible

Oh dear. Not heard from DS yet but that doesn't bode well. He did really well in his mock Physics despite it being his least favourite science - he just scraped a 7. We were hoping for a good paper that would at least keep him on the same level as his mock success.

Piony · 25/05/2023 11:06

AQA Physics went well.

It's so hard to know though isn't it? I always seemed to do best in "horrid" exams and bombed in those I thought were fine.

CallmeIT · 25/05/2023 11:07

Mine really liked the AQA combined physics (higher paper) and it’s not her strong point so it bodes well for others hopefully.

spiderlight · 25/05/2023 11:08

WJEC higher physics went well, thank goodness!

CallmeIT · 25/05/2023 11:13

@piony me too, and when mine comes out saying it was great I worry 🙈

OvaHere · 25/05/2023 11:16

Heard from DS. He thinks it went okay but can't tell if he did good or bad.

Personally I feel like you'd know if you totally bombed a Physics paper but we'll just have to wait and see.

BonjourCrisette · 25/05/2023 11:16

Just had this exact thought! DD says Physics Edexcel was fine and she finished it all so I hope she's not being overconfident.

iwantavuvezela · 25/05/2023 11:18

Nervous for this one - DD needs a 7 and she was not feeling confident at all - a mix of poor teaching/absent teachers over the last 3 years - there was much that she seemed to be self teaching / watching videos. She is writing AQA so really hoping it went well

HappiDaze · 25/05/2023 11:25

I'll get a low down in a while on this horrible paper. Fingers crossed some of it was ok though, enough to pass at least.

TripleDaisySummer · 25/05/2023 11:28

spiderlight · 25/05/2023 11:08

WJEC higher physics went well, thank goodness!

That's a relief to read - hopefully DS will say similar when he gets home much later.

It's one of the ones he really needs for next step - other than English Language.

He's had to take his PE kit in for this afternoon as they are still doing proper PE lessons.
