I'm not sure how that's possible, you have to accept/ reject the offer on the e-admissions system fairly promptly? Unless you mean they accept but never bother to then reject it later?

G&L just emailed to say they are still not in a position to make any WL offers as they have a number of outstanding replies and they have now released the bottom of the wait list, which I presume means the bottom half have been told they're definitely not going to get a place?

Hi, we released G+L earlier this week and PHS yesterday. Good luck to all those on WLs - I know of a few girls in DD’s primary who will today be releasing G&L offer/s, so I’d anticipate quite a lot of movement generally now that the state school offers are out.

This is interesting, as I thought I saw a few posts stating the said their WL was not ranked?

I think this is the case that people accept and just do not turn up. I have seen this happen before in primary. Or people move country and just do not bother to say.

Wow! That's amazing. I mean that anyone can be that selfish blows my mind a bit. Lack of empathy when you must KNOW there are people on waiting lists for virtually any half decent school given the population in London/ over subscription everywhere etc!

Yes, I know. It makes me so mad. I know people that did this during primary.

It is possible and I know it’s happened several times over the years. If you don’t reject the schools are not allowed to offer the place to someone else.
I know a few people who have been offered places for this reason in September, after they’d started in other schools. Of course they were delighted by the offers, but they had wasted money on school uniforms etc and then had to purchase these again, for the new school.
Also if you reject on eadsmissions, the schools will still want you to confirm to them directly via email. I have 2 DD who got into very selective grammars, and even though we promptly turned down the places we were still chased by the school to confirm to them directly as well. In one DD’s case they automatically put us on waiting list for 2nd state school ( which was grammar as well) and we had to turn that down too. This was a few years ago though.
so please turn down state school offers, to make someone else’s life easier

Gosh that's rubbish. And a flawed system - surely would be better if people HAD to either accept or reject and couldn't just not do anything. I know there are people who will have language barriers etc but I feel like it's not that hard - we are probably talking a very small number who don't do anything - so a phone call or follow up with a clear "YOU MUST REPLY" wouldn't be so hard...

I had already immediately accepted DD's Tiffin offer but the school also sent an email yesterday requesting a direct email just so that they know - I suspect the councils are rubbish at communicating with the schools!

Yes you are right re councils, that’s exactly what the school said to us when I said we had already rejected the offers online. They said that was for the council, but they always confirm because communication isn’t always as it should be.

Thats nice, this year is so different. Congratulations to your friend. I know SPGS have also started offering fro their WL.
2 years ago JAGS didn’t offer from their WL at all. That was the covid year, when they used ISEB etc

Our friend did not take it as they have accepted WHS, which was their too preference. But a sign that things are moving (although a bit late for some?)

@QuiteAJourney Good to hear waiting lists are moving. So far we know that JAGS and Harrodian are moving. LU have closed their lists. Any other updates?

We have accepted Emanuel and released WHS and JAGS. Hopefully the WL will move soon.

SPGS, WHS, FHRP. These I’m aware of too.

Does anyone know if the PHS list is moving yet?

It does not seem to move and they have not shared with anyone where people sit on their WL or how close (or not) they are to making use of it...

Maybe they don’t need to use it this year. Shame!

They have said that they have been very cautious this year and they seemed to be surprised that people wanted to know where in the WL they sat. From friends that have had direct experience of speaking with them, they do not seem to have been brilliant at managing expectations.
