A friend has had waitlist offer today from SPGS. So it is all starting to move. Good luck everyone :-)

Daydreamscometrue · 02/03/2023 21:15

@QuiteAJourney Yes, everything happens for a reason as the saying goes! Really hoping with the transparency on this thread that it helps others with their school choices. I know IPS deadline is Monday but believe all others are tomorrow? Hoping waiting lists start to move soon.

QuiteAJourney · 02/03/2023 21:16

Putney High and Wimbledon High have deadline on Monday too (there may be other GDST schools with that deadline, but not sure)

OP posts:
secondaryquandries · 02/03/2023 21:50

I believe reeds and cfc are Monday deadlines too.

QuiteAJourney · 02/03/2023 21:55

So WHS, PHS, SCHS, CFC and Reeds on Monday...

OP posts:
Shiningsun · 02/03/2023 22:02

What about the deadline of CLSG (city of london school for girls)?

KPA · 02/03/2023 22:41

Whitgift and Emanuel have deadlines for 1200 tomorrow

QuiteAJourney · 03/03/2023 07:14

Decision day / deadline for many schools today.
I am very aware that there are quite a few people on WL (have close friends in that situation), so it would be great if people could post if there have experience or have heard of any movement in waiting lists (and for which school). I think that even a mention of which schools they are rejecting today (if any) would be useful for those still waiting.

Harrodian started moving their waitlist

CruCru · 03/03/2023 07:25

Also if anyone has a state school place that they aren’t going to take up, please could you turn it down? I’ve heard of people (no one I know) not bothering then leaving the state school place unfilled in September. This could be screwing things up for a child with fewer options.

Trickleg · 03/03/2023 08:10

YY to the KGS form being a faff! Also to last minute panic searching for DS’s birth certificate. Good luck to everyone making choices and thankyou to @QuiteAJourney for continuing the thread

Taurus23 · 03/03/2023 08:11

Just in case it’s helpful for anyone, now or in the future. We had a very disappointed daughter who was waitlisted for three of her top schools after getting through to interview rounds for all.

I’m delighted to say she was offered WHS yesterday which we have accepted.

We have given up Surbiton this morning.

Best of luck to all WL do seem to be moving now and perhaps there was less over offering this year.

Redapples81 · 03/03/2023 08:18

They are moving. Offered both WL.

@Redapples81 can you share the schools?

@Taurus23 that's brilliant! I guess as a result of Tiffin offers. Enjoy!

@Redapples81 this is great, which schools?

Has anyone heard of PHS WL movement? Hopefully lots of WL today, you'd think so given lots of people have decided by now.

@Taurus23 congrats! I know that it was your DD's favourite!
My DD is also off to WHS and really excited about it! See you there!

We had a last-minute panic as well, searching for birth certificate and then hoping dd EU settlement visa comes through in time. Luckily in the end it came through and all was okay. I hope you managed to find the birth certificate!

Taurus23 · 03/03/2023 09:26

@QuiteAJourney @swgeek thank you! So happy

Vista123 · 03/03/2023 09:28

We've just accepted Sutton High with Art Scholarship and turned down Streatham and Clapham High (sadly - lovely school!) Also turned down Chestnut Grove State School - specialist art place.
Hope this helps out some others.
Thank you SO much for this thread which has been an amazing support!
Good luck to all others on waiting lists

jemini31 · 03/03/2023 09:59

We accepted Tiffin Girls and turned down SPGS and LEH yesterday. Good luck to all in the waitlist, good to see it’s moving now!

Yarnie · 03/03/2023 10:02

LU emailed to say they would not be taking anyone from their reserve list due to a high uptake of offers, so we accepted our Emanuel offer this morning. It’s our son’s favourite and he’s delighted. I’m really happy, too, but slightly less pleased about the commute (45 mins on a good day vs. about 12 mins for LU). Just happy to be DONE, tbh! Congratulations to all acceptees and Bon chance to all those waiting to hear re: WL movement.

It seems relatively more parents prefer coed than single sex this year.
