Good luck to everyone's DC for tomorrow. Wishing them all the best.

Just back from ours hols. DD is all over the place today and getting progressively stroppier as the evening goes on.

WombatChocolate · 24/08/2022 21:41

Thanks. This has been a great thread. Heading over to the other one now.

Hoping you all have happy news tomorrow.

nicky2512 · 24/08/2022 22:37

Thinking about you all for tomorrow. Don’t think there will be much sleep tonight! Just hope they are all happy with what they get. It’s been a tough few years.

I’ve created a new thread for results tomorrow so we don’t have to rush around when this one fills up!

Great idea, thanks.

aramox1 · 25/08/2022 11:17

Whew! All good here. Better than expected!well done everyone!

Rollergirl11 · 25/08/2022 16:27

Thought I’d post back on this thread as the other one is bonkers and moving so fast.

Just wanted to say that it’s been a pleasure sharing this journey with all you lovely Mum’s. We finally made it out the other side! Now on to the next steps with our DC’s. Hopefully see you all in Further Education! 👋 👋

We made it through!

zighead · 25/08/2022 16:47

Yeah, I can’t believe the GCSE journey is over. See you on the further education board soon.

Silkierabbit · 25/08/2022 16:59

Yes its much such a lovely thread, thanks everyone and agree other one is so busy. Does feel like the end of an era for DD though the real shock will be in 2 years with that.

whenwillthemadnessend · 25/08/2022 17:09

Thank you and well done all. I very happy with dd. Higher than mocks are far better then we hoped for. Thanks goodness. Slightly lower math grade for a level choice of biology but school happy for her to take biology anyway as she got a decent grade in that.

All other choices good to go. So relived!!!! But very tired. Will flake out tonight.

IThinkIMadeItWorse · 25/08/2022 17:24

Well done everyone for making it through and thanks for your support on this thread. DS managed to pass everything, he even passed French though I am not quite sure how! He is happy. Did very well in his A level subjects and looking forward to being much more specialised. See you in Further Education.

PugInTheHouse · 25/08/2022 18:35

It's a little bit sad reading the other thread where DCs are devastated at getting 8s and 7s instead of more 9s. The pressure they are under is insane, such a shame.

We have a couple of subjects not quite as expected, 1 a 7 instead of an 8 and 1 a 5 instead of a 7 (partly due to the practical element being submitted half finished in error by the teacher) but it doesn't affect his college entry so all good really and still good grades. He's not doing either at college.

So glad it's over now, 2 years and DS2 will be doing his, he has autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties so will be a bit of a slog. He has chosen a good mix of options to give himself the best chance. I will definitely be more stressed with him.

aramox1 · 25/08/2022 19:43

I'm sad to see people disappointed with 7s and 8s elsewhere- too much pressure. Well done all parents and kids and thanks for all your cheering support this year!

legosunqueen · 25/08/2022 19:54

I've loved this thread too, great support, onwards & upwards to our wonderful, resilient DCs - looking forward to seeing you on the Further Education follow on thread.

I wondered @Silkierabbit if you'd heard from the sister of @Chicagocubs about her DS's results? I really hope he's done well...

QueenMabby · 25/08/2022 21:02

Yes thank you @Rollergirl11 - it's been a rollercoaster ride!

Looking forward to chatting with you all in FE.

Silkierabbit · 25/08/2022 21:27

No I have not heard anything Lego I sent a pm just but of course I am not sure will be picked up by her sister.

Chicagocubs · 29/08/2022 01:10

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for thinking of us .
It's been a very difficult few months for us all, we miss my sister desperately. My nephew received his GCSE exam results on Thursday 10 at grade 9 , 1 at grade 8 and an A in FSMQ. We are all so proud of him but I think that the coming year will be very difficult.

He and his dad spent the summer with us, he is flying to London tomorrow. My heart is breaking as I will miss him so.much.

Well done all your children, it's been such a difficult few years for young people. They are awesome ! They do have amazing mom"s and you must all be so proud.❤️
@Silkierabbit wishin

Lots of love,
Kathy xx

Chicagocubs · 29/08/2022 01:15

@Silkierabbit you are an inspiration.
Keep living life to the full xx

LouisCatorze · 29/08/2022 08:02

@Chicagocubs (Kathy) thank you so much for the update about your nephew. Wow, what an achievement. But no doubt bittersweet for him in light of his mother's passing Sad.

Wishing your nephew, you and the rest of your family all the best at this sad time, and hoping he gets all the support he needs as he makes the transition to sixth form.

Silkierabbit · 29/08/2022 09:42

Thank you so much for the update on your nephew Kathy. Those are really amazing results and I am glad he and his Dad got to spend the summer with you. It must be so hard for you all but I think his Mum would be very proud of him and very glad to have such a wonderful sister to have supported him through this most difficult of times. I wish you all well and sending lots of love.

legosunqueen · 29/08/2022 15:48

@Chicagocubs Kathy, thank you so much for updating us, what fantastic results, no wonder you are proud. You sound like such a loving family, he is lucky to have you looking out for him.

I am also in awe of @Silkierabbit's composure & strength & kindness Flowers

Silkierabbit · 29/08/2022 23:15

Thank you so much for your very kind words Lego and Kathy.

MyOtherProfile · 30/08/2022 05:11

Wow amazing results. So glad you all got to spend summer together. It must have been so tough.

IThinkIMadeItWorse · 30/08/2022 09:02
